  • this is better than jackanorey

  • lol, he was a bit like baldrick in this. was this before or after blackadder- he looks quite young

  • used to watch this inbetween revising for my o levels!!!

  • I used to tape this on a tape recorder. We didn't even have a video recorder back then. It's weird when you dredge up something so obscure from your childhood memories that you haven't thought of it in years...and then hear it is. Thanks for sticking this on youtube.

  • I remember watching this as a kid. XD

6:34 LOL The fruit bowl is a plastic ice cream tub, and there's a tub of yogurt amongst the fruit.

  • Tony Robinson is awsome, as a kid i used to confuse him with Sylvester McCoy and in these clips he reminds me of him a lot

  • Every bit as great at presenting children's programmes as he is at presenting archaeological documentaries.

  • I loooove this show as a kid!!, tony robimson is awsome!!.

  • I'd have to give kudos for the "point-of-view" camerawork they did in this show as well

  • loved this show as a kid!

  • AAAAAMMMMMAAAAAZZZZIIINNNGG! O.O I haven't seen this since I was a small child! Thanx for uploading it!!

  • THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING!

You have made my day! I loved this show. Tony was fantastic.

  • Thanks for uploading these Fat Tulip shows, I remember watching them as a kid in the late 80s, good to see them again :). I use to think narrator Tony Robinson was Fat Tulip lol. Anyways amazing to see a lot of this obscure 80s stuff I saw as a child pop up on YouTube.

  • It used to 'kind of' terrify me too in a cool way, watching this after school all alone whilst me mama was doing evening shifts..

    wow Good posting good times.

  • My family loved this show but we remembered it as Fat Julip. No wonder we couldnt find it anywhere. We also loved Maid Marion. i have stuck with Tony Robinson over the years and have seen some wonderful docos he has made.

  • Blooody!, brilliant!.

  • hahahahaha i just saw this with my mum and she said that this was one of her fav shows back in her day.

    thanks for posting ;D

  • I couldn't remember the name of this show. I've spent years trying to describe it to people but no one seems to remember it!! Thank God for YouTube

  • I love this so much! I was 4 when this was on TV, I missed an episode one week because my parents took me away on holiday and I cried! I used to love Maid Marian too, wish Tony Robinson would do more kids stuff.

  • Great stuff! Not like the rubbish on kids tv these day. Very clever!

  • Oh jesus! This is a nostalgia bomb!

  • Fat Tulip was amazing. I used to tape it because it was on when I was at work!!!

  • best tv show ever. kids' tv shows these days don't leave anything up to the imagination.

  • I love this show! Why isn't it out on DVD!?

  • This is class!! I remember hurrying home from school to watch this. Th ank you for allowing me to go all misty eyed :)

  • Thank you so much for posting this up. It has been years since I have last seen this!!

I remember telling my my other siblings about this show when i was in an nostalgic mood and neither of them remember this show they all claimed that i was crazy, now finally i can prove my sanity!!

    *twitches right eye*

  • been looking for this for so long...rare as hen's teeth THANKS!!!

  • Awesome find!!! This show used to pissed me off since it was always before Captain Planet or another equally cool show.

  • This show is fantastic! Does it for me! This is more like all the wonderful things that TV *could* be. Nowadays, it seems to lack creativity to a wide degree. And American TV in particular is so boring now with its "reality shows" (more like "reality-is-really-sad-ass shows"). But it's a passing phase (I say optimistically). I got a big kick out of the "salad cream" thing. We don't say that over here. Heeheee

  • lmao this show is so awsome.

  • This is such a great show thanks for posting

  • This show I loved as a kid. My favorite one was the one where Fat Tulip got some socks from Thin Tim and Fat Tulip never washed them and always wore them. Thin Tim stole them in the night because he hated the smell of the socks and Fat Tulip found them buried in the garden. I also loved the one where the frogs tipped the tadpole in Fat Tulip,s drink! :D

  • This show is better then even Thomas the Tank, we need copies of this in Australia again.

Awesome, but has anyone got the one with Fred the Bady?

  • I do have the episode with Fred the Bady. Unfortunately the transfer from the video was bad and the episode is messed up, I could try a tick it together and upload it.

  • I loved this show as a kid! My parents had it on tape and I watched on a regular basis... until the tape died! I was so distraught when it did!

  • did anyone else only get half of it? I want to know what happens!!!

  • Blimey. I remember watching this when I was young. I always enjoyed the ending but I could only remember three of the characters. Fat Tulip, Thin Tim and Lewis Collins the Tortoise. Hope I can find more somewhere.

  • Thanks for posting this. I forgot this show existed until I saw Tony Robinson on Time Team - it brought back a flood of memories.

  • Great stuff!

  • man kids' shows sure have changed a lot

  • This is blatazz just tony wandering round a garden talking shite. God bless tony robinson

  • More, more!

  • i loved fat tulip. i wish it were still on tv. its much more stimulating than anything they have on telly now!

  • fat tulip was my fave kids program, its like gold dust to find episodes...
