This is my favorite by The Smiths and probably in my top 10 of favorite songs ever.  I was a devotee of heavy metal and somehow got hooked on The Smiths - interesting note for music buffs: Morrissey was head of the New York Dolls fanclub in the UK - Blackie Lawless of the glam metal band W.A.S.P. was once a member and the Dolls were huge influence on LA glam of the early 80's.

Perfect!! Great guitar and singing. I find it interesting that you play the E chord as a second position barred D. Probably makes it sound more authentic than using the open E chord.
