Music doesn't encourage serenity (at least not for me!); lighting difficult; crowded; cars and people passing by outside.... Nature setting better?! Wonderful idea - tune in to self - from scratch - no instruction. Erich, a fine teacher.
The freeform idea looks v appealing. I love schiffmann's book. It's just unfortunate that he seems to have chosen such appalling awful music. Why can't they do yoga in silence? Or least choose some slightly less trashy music?
Awesome! Erich you are beautiful! Thank you Casey too! I loved the combination of my Guru brother and Eddie Vedder at the end. I live freeform yoga! It's the shit. Freedom baby! Go Erich, Go Erich, it's ya birthday!
Thank you for posting, Chaya, I was sorta wondering why MFR was being mentioned, haha.. Yes, there are many styles of Yoga. Freeform is a style of yoga being coined/associated with master teacher Erich Schiffmann, who is endeavoring to bring trust into the hearts of practicing yogis so that their movements originate from the connection that occurs within them here. When the heart is reached, and the connection pure (meaning unresisted), the movement extended through one comes through smoooth..
Scott, maybe you have to experience both MFR and freeform yoga, as I have , to feel the similarities. People do become more uninhibited and creative with practice. Also, not all unwinding is crazy/wild/unstructured..example would be the "star unwinding" that Lori does in the MFR Freedom DVD. BTW, I am not a therpaist, just a client/yogi.
Hello scottvan1, thank you for viewing and posting your impression. Yes, as you have noticed, this is not a professionally filmed video. The lights were dimmed to what felt right to the class, no microphones were used. I have been studying with Erich Schiffmann for 6 years, he is patient, kind, and generously offers the depths of yoga to all who are wanting to fathom it's depths. Everyone is welcome in his class, from first day absolute beginner an on.... Om, Casey

Lousy audio, very echoey! Poor lighting for video too! They're all SO structured, not freeform or like myofascial unwinding at all I think!
