These cars are tough little bastards. I bought one for 500 now 3 years later has over 300k...original engine, tranny and clutch still. They are what they are plain....but wow never had a more reliable car and incredible on gas. Used to have to off road in it reading irrigation meters too. Awesome cars...still going pretty good too...but getting rid of it. Just amazed how good it was.

Those little 1.0L 3 bangers are tough, I have a 92 convertible 5-speed and it's a rev happy motor like a Honda, i've bounced it off the rev limiter before and it still runs. I'd like to know why the rpm's surge in neutral when it's rolling though and when I barely give it gas, could be my fuel filter or bad gas but i'm not sure.

unfortunatly theres nothing to clean out :( you either have a ISC (idle speed control motor) which is just a motor that pushes on the throttle lever, or an IAC (which in this case on a metro is not a valve or air passage) its a Idle Air Control....it uses a simple wax pellet much like a thermostat to maintain the throttle opening
