  • he returns as a zombie in land of the dead...

  • @obtainedenslavemable wearing the same basic clothes, just tattered. very violent, machete wielding zombie.

  • @obtainedenslavemable I think they did that as a joke because he died in this one

  • My favorite bit is the blood pressure machine bit :-)

The most creative use of a blood pressure machine in film history IMHO.

    "Your blood pressure is 00:00"

  • i remember tom tellin me and some people i was with that when they sho this scene, when he fell over the balcony, he missed the safty boxes they had laid out an he slammed himself on the floor

  • why did he stab th zombie in the neck!!?! O__0

  • @Cenobitum my thoughts exactly

  • @KamelRed420 I mean it's not like it gives a shit.

  • Great job man, Tom, aka Blade's in the film was cool, the only problem is that the bikers got careless, and that bloke checking his blood preasure lol

  • this guy is the shit

  • And then he returned in land of the dead as the same character. Which was awesome!

  • poor savini

  • And he later comes back as a zombie in Land of the Dead.

  • You can see Tom Savini at practically every Lakers home game seated behind the tv announcers.

  • He also returns in Land of The Dead as this very same character from Dawn of the Dead...only he's a zombie. lol You only get to see him for one short moment, but for those that are fans you'll notice it - it's toward the end when the zombies are overrunning Fiddler's Green, and he's still toting his machete.

  • When people say the remake is better its just wrong. Dont forget no orignal= no remake

  • My favorite part is when the biker sits down at the blood-pressure testing machine and puts his arm in the clamp. Then the zombies can grab him and he can't get away. As they pull on him, the machine's screen reads "Remain Still During Testing", and after they've yanked him to pieces and his arm is still in the machine, the screen says "Your Blood Pressure Is: 0 over 0".

  • I think he was in the film maniac but I'm not sure..

  • Tom Savini is Romero's Michael Biehn.

Next time you use a "human" shield, make sure it's not already dead.

    \8-P

  • i find it funny how savini was bout to be eaten by a group of zombies and hes more focused on shooting peter

  • He also dies in Lost Boys- The Tribe. Don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet.

  • Anyone find it funny that Savini tries to hold a zombie hostage to keep Peter from shooting him?

  • @jellric He's just using it for cover.

  • YOU ARE A SHIT EATING MONGREL

  • holy fucking shit you are one seriously stupid motherfucker!!!

  • I like the original than the remake.

  • yes the original is the best :)

  • i loved the remake too, also cause the zombies RAN.. that was pretty awesome.. but i own both of them on dvd so who cares. they both rock

  • hes in the remake as well

  • Tom Savini did visual effects, make up and also a stuntman in the original Dawn of the Dead.

  • and in all of Romero's 'dead' films.

  • The greatest zombie movie of all time!

"We got this, man! We got this by the ass!"

  • agreed, this movie was incredible. The characters are far superior to anything you see nowadays.

did you ever see the remake of DAY of the dead?! HOLY FUCKNG SHIT it was horrible!! it had a stupid storyline, super-human 'zombies', and all teenage survivors... it was absoloutely one of the worst things I've ever seen.

That's what happens when you don't stick to Romero's precedent lol.

  • @TheWiretap

If you really think that the remake was one of the worst films youve seen that you must have a shit film taste.

Then again, you probably love EVERY film Romero has done.

  • @TheWiretap I agree. It was only a remake in name in my opinion. Hardly any of the things that were in the original were put into the remake.

  • @TheWiretap Speaking of Day of the Dead remake , the title is messed up because of 1 thing , THEY FIGHT ZOMBIES AT NIGHT !!!

  • @TheWiretap They were Justin Beiber people and the zombies were little kids.

  • @TheWiretap I dont even personally consider it to be a remake, just a movie about zombies that has the same name by coincidence.

  • didn't he also star in land of the dead because there was a zombie thatlooks like him and has a machete

  • Yep, that was Savini's character, Blades. Nice little reminder of DOTD. Great makeup too!

My buddy elbowed me in the shoulder when he showed up onscreen and said, "guess who that is" and I was already on it.

By and large though, many probably thought that he was just "another ghoul" and not aware of his part in the prior film.

Nice to see an old face though, lol

  • Meet Romero himself in person at Saturday Nightmares Expo, March 19-21 at the Landmark Loew's Theatre, Jersey City, NJ.

See the original Dawn of the Dead and Creepshow screened in a beautiful 1930's theatre setting with an intro panel discussion with the films director and cast!

Hope to see you all there!

  • I tend to look at the remake as a different film with some of the same settings and elements. I love the remake, but this is a classic no matter what.

  • The Best Movie!

  • The remake and the original were both very good, I still prefer the original. The original keeps a better post-apocalypse atmosphere.

  • He died via head explosion in the film Maniac if nobody has mentioned that yet.

  • The Blades Zombie cameo in Land of the Dead was great! I only wish that Romero had given him more screen time.

  • i like that he has a cameo in land of the dead and that hes been walking around for a year and a half ( the time between dawn and land of the dead) carrying a machete lol

  • tom savini is in all the romero,s movies ...almost

  • Really? Do you mean as an actor? I can only think of 4: Martin, Dawn of the Dead, Knightriders & Two Evil Eyes (a small cameo in the cemetery).

  • is in children of the living dead and land of the dead too

  • You're correct about Tom's cameo in Land of the Dead, but Children OTLD wasn't a Romero movie.

  • you right, sorry XD

  • sure it sucks he died but i would be happy in that case since if i wasn't i would have been slowly eaten

  • At least Michael Jackson would be ok. He´d just dance his way out of that difficult situation.

  • HAHAHAAA! ::D

  • hahahaha!" X fucking D"

  • If your going to use the word "gay" at least spell it correctly.

  • No way, this movie is a classic..and i agree, only insult if you can spellcheck

  • yeah but he comes back as a zombie in land of the dead

  • I met Tom Savini yesterday :) At my brothers graduation from Douglas Academy for special F/X Make-up, Savini taught it. :)

  • Tom Savini die in lost boys : the tribe his head get ripped off by the vampire gang

  • oh yah he does i love the movie lost boys

  • sex machine rulesssssss

  • haha in the 2004 version the zombies is like superuperduper fast but in this movie theyr like slowmo fomo assholes who sounds like drunk ppl and are just as slow

  • the idea behind the slowness is to create a type of psychological fear..u can kill em but they keep congregating till u get tired..i love them super dashing zombies in dawn 2004 but watch land of d dead and u wud see how their slowness make em very deadly

  • get em sex machine!

  • Tom Savini dies almost all the horror movies .

  • i liked his moustache comb !!!

  • didn't savini also die in maniac?

  • savini always die, as in planet terror

  • just met him today at a horror convention. awesome fucking dude.

  • Savini is great in this film but one of the most memorable death scenes in this film is that biker on the blood pressure machine,

It just doesn't get any better.

  • I love the movies of George A. Romero. All movies with zombies fascinate me. And there is no doubt that Tom Savini is magnificent.

By the way, does anyone has seen the film Children of the living dead? In it Tom Savini kills zombies with his great style.

  • Yeah he dies in like the first 10 minutes WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only thing making that movie watchable until the point where he dies, was Toms witty humor and cheezy voice dubs. I don't even know why Tom got involved with that pile of steaming garbage Children of the Living Dead in the first place!

  • maniac - he got his head blown to shit in the car

  • jajaja

i love the clotes of tom

i want a black jacket too

  • I don't think Blades (Tom Savini) should have died in the movie. It should have been the leader with the Nazi helm on.......

  • Because he died, he was able to return for a cameo in Land.

  • tom savini dies in the slasher film Maniac. Its most infamous scene is when the serial killer leaps onto Tom's car and graphically shoots his head off close range with a 12 gauge. One of Savini's best gore work in a film!

  • Great movie

  • Savini is such a pure, weird, stand off-ish prick to genre fans at conventions that sadly it really makes me look at all of his amazing past make-up FX accomplishments on DVD that I have ordered in a totlaly different light. So many of my online friends whom I've met off-line and gone to cons and I know would't lie to me have had weird/negative experieances with him.

Too bad to hear he is such a legendary asshole ...

  • I have heard this as well from a person that claims to have met him.

  • I have 3 online frineds I met at cons and have stayed in touched have all had negative experieances with him. Too bad cause I used to like the guy, and on DVD interviews and commentarie tracks and every Halloween season on The Independant Film Channel he comes off as quietly energetic and sweet and totally loving the film projects he's been involved in over the years.

I am planning to attend the next Weekend of horror's in 2 years and if Savini is thereI am gonna record out encounter ...

  • Yeah I just got back from a convention that he was at in Pennsylvania and you are right. He also steals credit, he stole credit from a guy named Terry who made the skeletons in Army of Darkness. I have a picture with him and kinda reminds me of a turtle. Everyone else there was very cool.

  • Besides this "Dawn of the Dead", I can remember only one other movie in which Tom dies: "Planet Terror", but I bet there are others...

  • didnt he die in from dusk til dawn

  • Yeah. And I think he died in Knight Riders as well...

  • didnt Tom savini die in land of the dead as zombie blades?

  • @colorado79 so pretty much he gets FUCKED UP in every movie he's in?

  • @colorado79 No he didnt.

  • @colorado79 maniac 1980

  • @colorado79 wasnt he in land of the dead as well

  • @crossfadecold yep. Playing the same biker in all its zombified glory.

  • @colorado79 Yeah you see him a breaf second when they come into the hotel where Dennis Hopper is at. He was dressed as a biker zombie, just a few seconds of camera time.

  • @colorado79 Also in Maniac (1980) he gets his head blown up by the killer :)

  • @colorado79 He dies in The Demonlionist as well Another biker bites the dust, & Bruce Campbell has a small cameo in the film as well.

  • Tom looks like DeeDee Ramone with a moustache.

  • was that one of the bad bikers?

  • bikers are always bad...

  • I know they shoot stephen and thats why the zombies got him what did they want did they come to go after Fran peter and stephen because roger was already dead at the time they arived.

  • @colorado79 Bad & Bad-Ass.

  • i love tom savini he was excellent in dusk til dawn

  • No Romero did not invent zombies. He just took voodoo folklore and made it into his own. Very creepy! Saw Night at the drive in when it came out and I was scarred for life! I'll take those slow moving creepers over the new and improved speedy zombies any day. They are perhaps very cheesy, but still managed to bring a few nightmares!

  • did goerge a romero invent zombies?

  • dude greatest movie ever! i didnt hate the 2004 one but these ppl left 4 a reason, not b dumbsses like in the new one "idont wanna die here"..omg ...i rather die there then torn 2 pieces!

  • i don't get it why did he kill him?

  • 'cause he's a member of a biker gang which raided into the mall bringing up chaos...

  • oh. it's been a long time since i've seen this movie

  • Why is everyone give the pro-remake posts thumbs down? They are just saying what they feel, they're not saying "If uDoN't lik the remak u r gay" They are just stating their opinion.

  • Everyone nags about how the remake is good..

i find the original version a true masterpiece, the story was done better than the new one, the remake did not have the raiders looting the mall, instead they escape from the mall by using patched up buses.. wow wery original!

the original is greatness its the masterpiece of all zombie-movies.. think of it the remake had running zombies... those are not classified as ZOMBIES! they seem more like superzombies rather than regulars

    the video

  • w/e u say buddy but there isn't any rules to how or what zombies are supposed to be like. I personally thought the remake was the best god damn zombie movie ever... and why the hell does everyone think Romero is a GOD...

  • George A.Romero created the perfect zombie persona In the remake they run

It is impossible as when the body dies it goes into rigor mortis which means that the body gets stiff and it would be impossible for zombies to even make any movements.. thus the slowdrunkfunnywalk in older zombie movies

I don't say the remake suck i just don't like the fact that the zombies are running.

So don't get me wrong it's a good movie.

  • number 1 if they had rigor mortis they wouldn't be able to walk period... number 2 there's no way in hell that zombies could exist... specially with no organs explained in day of the dead... it's sci-fi buddy... its not supposed to be real... the whole idea of running zombies was cool and i thought it was bad ass... the new Day of the Dead was simply retarted... it made zombie's super duper humans... they were fricken running on the ceiling... point being dead people wouldn't move period...

  • dawn of the dead(the original) was the only decent one... all the other ones were terrible... the makeup... the unrealistic bites... lets say if i bit you it would not look like that... idk whatever you guys like to think is better i guess.. in my opinion George Romero isn't that great and dawn of the dead(2004) is the best zombie movie i've seen...

  • In your previous comment you mentioned "why the hell does everyone think Romero is a GOD"

Simple: He created the famous zombie movie that showed gore-effects... after that Romero spawned great movie series.

I take it as you saw the remake before the original Dawn of the dead..

What is the unrealistic bits in the original?

The gore scene where the bikers get thorn apart??

According to you thought the one from the 70s is the only decent one, then you say the remake is the best movie you've seen?

  • i was refering to the George Romero Movies... sorry if i didn't explain myself thoroughly buddy... but w/e floats your boat... Gore and special effects don't just make a good movie... the bites... let's just say if I was to bite you... it wouldn't look like that... zombies are basically us... the bites look like rubber being stretched out and they bite... and they just grab huge chunks of meat off people it's not the gore im looking for.

  • btw im jeb black

  • i think the zombie make up on the new one was great.. i think this old one is scarier its much scarier when they just walk cuz either way they will still get u

  • DONT DIS GEORGE ROMERO THOUGHT UP OF THE ZOMBIE he made this movie hes the greatest movie maker of alll time btw did u no (u probably did) that tom savini did his own stunts the end music is right good!! this is a freaking classic

  • he thought up the un-dead, zombie is a different thing!

  • true lol trying to get my point across lmao XDDD

  • true lol trying to get my point across lmao XDDD

  • Are you kidding the 2004 remakes sucked ass it was horrible the acting was no were near as good as the Original Dawn of the Dead.

  • damn straight, 2004's was god awful and a disgrace to romero's masterpiece

  • the remake did not suck ass, FOR FUCK SAKE!!!!

  • yes it did. the original is fucking more greater than the remake. I mean its ok but lets face it the remake was just far to much.

  • the original was classic, none of the copies compare to it!

  • love this movie

  • the 2004 version made up for how crapy this is

  • You would expect a comment like this from a guy called douchebag...

  • exactly -.-

  • dude this movie is a classic

  • This is better, the zombies are like what real zombies would be like, slow and stupid. better than modern crap where they can run at 50mph ^_-

  • isin't that the biker gang that lets in the zombies?

  • better shot than eaten

  • least he never got eaten

  • dusk till dawn suked

  • Actually, he appears in "Land of the Dead" as the biker in this movie, not Day...

  • But I don't think he was playing the character. In Dawn; people only turn into zombies if they are bitten, Blades dies from a gun shot. And Savini is only credited as "Machete Zombie" in Land so I think he only supposed to resemble Blades (not Zombie Blades).

  • no, people reanimate in dawn for ANY reason. anybody who dies without severe brain hemoraging will come back as a zombie. ur thinking about the dawn remake.

  • tom was in day???

  • tom was also in dusk till dawn

  • Tom is cool but why is he always in the movies he helps make?

  • It's kind of like his calling card. He was in Dawn of the dead, the remake, and Day of the dead as the biker from this movie. It's a little comedy and nostalgia I suppose.

  • sledge is kool (the dude that gets his intestines ripped out) an blades is kool too

  • he was in land of the dead

  • tom rules

  • the best savini scene in the original dawn is

    I SEE YOU CHOCOLATE MAN!!

  • tom savini is mi idol, blades and sex machine rules

  • I loved his cameo in Land of the Dead. He played the ONLY recurring character in Romero's Dead series. He also rocked in From Dusk Till Dawn.

  • joeseph pilato who played captin rhodes was also in dawn of the dead as the dock guard

  • Romero = Awesome , Savini = Also Awesome , effects tht good in the 70s? NICCEEEEE

  • i fink he sed 'is there a bike' or 'i need a bike' or sumit!

  • what did the guy say with the sledge hammer?

  • Tom was in Land of Dead.

  • damn, my mistake

  • he didn't come back in Land of the Dead..

  • He did come back with the same outfit.

  • lol, and then he came back in land of the dead, still rockin that machete

  • yeah that was cool where he like splits that guy in half
