you know, I discovered Tom years ago around '85 and I was in the middle of a very physically and emotionally painful upheaval. But I see no reason that he would not appeal to someone who has never been though any of that. We all come from somewhere and to be human is to suffer. So if you dig Tom, cheers, there is plenty of time in life to suffer. But it is not required to dig on Waits.

I used to sing this to my daughter as a lullaby. I know I'm a weird dad but it worked and it was the only song I could remember the words to. Sung in a low gentle voice it has a nice tune and is calming. Very nice video! Is it a Tom official or did you make it?

none other but tom waits can ever get that low down gospel blues sound. gravel voice and harmony in the background makes me soooo happy, yet also cry. one of the best songs. with of course the exception of all his other ones that are, none the less just as equal :)

Prine's Hobo is certainly up there with the best.
