My understanding when you room with someone - in at least a majority of cases - things like comfortability with pot/drinking/smoking/etc. are discussed...and I would still argue that when you're cheating on your spouse, you do a lot more work to hide it than when you're smoking anything.

No, they're not actors. The 'judge' shows are basically game shows. They're cheap to make. If you watch any at the end, you'll see in black & white - that the money the winner recieves is from a 'pot' set aside. In other words, even if you lose, you don't pay - THE SHOW pays. The reason only small claims is allowed is you can't get more than $5000. Remember this when you realise that a 'star' on a sitcom makes in 1 week what 1 of these shows spends all season.
