Good question. The purpose of government is to control, propagandize, enslave and murder. All of that is true. So why would you want them in charge of your health? This is the same organization that to this day is blowing up innocent people in the middle east and terrorizing us all at home. I say to hell with them, I don't want your war on Iraq, and I don't want your war against my health and my body!
Some of this I have to admit is a bit overblown. I attended Law School in the 90's and have never once been a party or participated in any legal action against any physician or healthcare provider. It's the "McDonald's" coffee case effect. Large awards in extremely rare situations are publicized and therefore everyone practices defensive medicine. I don't blame parties for doing it but I also think that a better way to handle it is insurance through licensure. If a state licenses a doctor, etc.
Malpractice litigation is overdone in the US, but removing it entirely (as is done in the Netherlands) has bad consequences. There needs to be some reckoning for poor care or outright murder.
What part of "We are from the Government and are here to help" doesn't scare the heck out of you. Ever wonder why the trial lawyers gave so much to Obama?
