Look into them?? I'm a fan of bathory. Yet many of their fans shit on manowar despite the fact bathorys later albums from the late 80s and beyond were influenced by manowar musically and their image. Quorthon even said this before in interviews. Norweigan black metal is garbage though.

No, NBM is actually awesome. The lyrics generally for bands like Enslaved, Emperor, Burzum, and the like are generally a lot more intellectual then the lyrics for Manowar. Again, both are great in my opinion.

Am I the only one who thinks you can like Manowar without taking them too seriously? Cause on youtube it always seems people either are "true brothers of metal" or don`t like Manowar.

Nothing against people who take Manowar as a religion, but please keep in mind that this is a band and there are people who don`t like them and that those people deserve as much respect as anyone else. Still they seem to have dedicated fans which is great as long as they don`t get fanatical.

As I don't call myself metalhead I have no problem with that. I respect Manowar as much as I respect any famous band where the members play their own instruments and don't use playback and shit, but not that much more since I really can't see what's so great about Manowar. Dedication to the fans is great, but that doesn't make their songs better.
