These are orthodox impostors trying to confuse the world. The holy scriptures say they will be hung by their tongues for eternity. There is one rightful truly Christian church the Orthodox Church of the Old calendar. Where Catholicism and every other type of christianity SPLIT.
I always love seeing my Eastern Catholic brothers on video, esp during Pope John Paul II's funeral. Like 90% of Latin Rite (aka Roman) Catholics I was ignorant of even the existence of different kinds of Catholics. Then I looked in the Yellow Pages and saw at least 4 EC churches within 3 miles of my house (Maronites, Melkites, Ukranians, etc). I think it would be fascinating if one of the next Popes was from an Eastern Rite. Of course he'd immediately become head of the Latin Church as well.
"You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will never prevail"
The death of the bishop of bishops and the vicar of Christ Pope John Paul II deserved a worthy funeral yet we all know that this man would had gone to Christ in heaven whether he had a funeral or not.
Does anyone know what the name of the first chant is? I wish i could get it; its really beautiful. Then again so are the other chants that came after LOL. If anyone knows them let me know I want to have them and perhaps know what they say. Dominus Vobiscum
The first music is "Christos Anesti". We sing it in Easter to commemorate the ressurection of Our Lord. It is the Paschal Troparion (Hymn). Every Eastern Catholic and Orthodox know it by heart. I've recently sung it in Easter and during the funeral service of a friend's grandfather. In Greek: "Christos Anesti ek nekron. Thanato thanaton patisas. Ke tis en tis mnimasi zoin charisamenos." In English: "Christ is risen from the dead, trampling down death by death, and to those in tombs giving life".
The one leading the prayers is a deacon (as he represents the bridge between the people and the priests and bishops), most probably a married one, due to his age. In some time from now, I hope to become an Eastern deacon (married) myself. The bishop who reads a prayer in Greek (and then in Arabic) is my Patriarch, His Beatitude Gregorios III, Patriarch of the Melkites. He was here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this year.
The sung parts and the Prayer for the Dead that is recited by Melkite Catholic Patriarch Gregory III is in Greek. The sung doxology after the Prayer for the Dead is in Arabic. It was interesting how the Greek Orthodox bishops followed in singing the Evlogitaria.

Pope John Paul II was, and still is, one of the most beloved popes of all time, because he showed us the face of Jesus in all he did; all he said and he always, always preached the Gospel, in words and actions! We are just a month away from the beatificatione ceremony where we will all begin to refer to him as Blessed John Paul II
So mournful yet beautiful. May Christ's Church be one again!

Look: All of this had been lost for the catholic church through Vatican II.
The cardinals are looking like poor children of the 60`s......

Christ is Risen from the dead, trampling death down by his death. And to those in the tombs bestowing life.

It is important to note that these are Eastern Rite Catholics performing this. The Orthodox delegation were the people in black robes shown at 2:12.
