  • hey can you make a tutorial on this effect? i just got sony vegas 9 pro.

  • @blender3dmaster This effect is pretty easy to do with Sony Vegas Pro. Just place your footage into the timeline, then a solid color on top, go event pan\crop for the solid color, click mask, then make four points in the pan\crop window to make a closed box. Adjust the four points to cover the blade and repeat this process for each frame in the video. There are tutorials all over Youtube on how to do this.

  • u have to edit this frame by frame right?

  • Exactly. You have a put a solid color on your video layer, mask out part of the color over the blade, and, yep, edit it frame by frame. It's a long process, but the results are great if done right.

  • That's so cool! Make a tutorial

  • Thanks! There are LOTS of tutorials on how to do just this effect with Vegas Pro 8. Just Youtube search "Vegas Pro 8 Lightsaber Effect" and you have your easy answer. This effect is actually easy to do with Vegas Pro, even though it's tedious and time consuming.
