Muse just seems to take one thing they want to throw into a song for the sake of having something weird and builds a song around it. Radiohead have influenced music way more than Muse has. And Muse's "style", though fun, is just a couple cool melodies with a tacky

That's probably because Radiohead have been around for longer than Muse have. Radiohead released their debut studio album in 1993, Muse's was released in 1999. 6 years is a pretty considerable amount of time when it comes to the musical world. Also, influence is a by product of the band's music, not a direct intention. I'm not the biggest fan of Muse, but they do have a recognisable style, and deserve to have that addressed, which you didn't by putting it in inverted commas.

I got into muse from Stephanie Meyer the writer of Twilight. I saw an acknowledgment to them in the beginning of one of her books and checked them out. Thank god for Twilight or I may have not have found the best band in the world. The writer of Twilight is a huge Muse fan and asked them to do songs for her movies. I'd be so thrilled if I was a writer to have my favorite band sing in a movie adaptation of my novel. It doesn't matter why you like Muse, it only matters that you do like Muse!
