nice man, I do the same thing but going out into the wild is only one of many plans I have, I pratice them all. You should have multipul plans in place not just one, I mean what if shit get really bad and its not possible to get to that spot? What if you are in a situation that forces you to stay home and survive there. what if you have to leave the state? or country? WHAT IF should always be in the back of yourmind through something like this.
@mattc1683 ~WE ALL KNOW YOUR REAL PLAN IS TO HIDE IN YOUR MOMMYS BASEMENT WHILE YOU FUCK YOUR MOMMY, CRY AND EAT FUNYUNS. U WILL PROBLY PLAY SOME CALL OF DUTY TOO AND CRY WHEN YOU GET KILLED ALL THE TIME BY YOUR MOMMY

Everybody has there own idea of what will work best and to each is own, The one thing I noticed is that you said you have to drive two hours to your bug out location. I couldn't imagine being on the road that long if SHTF. I guess I am lucky that I already live in the country, I guess I feel bad for people who live in a big city. good video and good luck.

@l31sh0p Look at his assault rifle...also, at the distance seen where he is standing in that cut. Ive killed Deer from 300 yards + in a Forest. There are many natural meadows that can give distance shots. There's also clear cuts from logging, power lines and access roads. A scoped HP rifle is deadly in the hands of an expert at distances much greater than 300 yards. an Average rifle shot can consistently kill game at 300 yards, an expert at double that.14,000,000+ guns bought in 2009.Stay safe!!

You know, I got caught up in responding to the comments of an "Anti BOB" on another thread today. I feel stupid now for trying to explain. I don't think I will need mine anytime soon but, if the time comes I will have options that they will not. The people making the comments are the ones that watched tv and didn't vote when it mattered. They will also be the first to know if it happens, because they will still be in front of the tv wondering who will save them while I am hunting dinner.
@cowpoke1000 That's why its called a test. Not willing to get arrested or fined when it's not the real thing. But you should know since you know how to split wood with a gas powered wood splitter..
@cowpoke1000 so what are YOU going to do when a group of well armed men come and take your fuckin chickens, potatoes, fuel and anything else of value that you have? Do you really think that you are going tobe able to stop a young generation of people like me (young highly military trained, programmed to kill and survive, athleatic, deadly, and generally a shit load better than you). Get fucking real guy, you wont last 5 min when they find you.
your bugging out a few hours away in a jeep with no trafic & nobody running yelling for help with no road blocks or check points to go through??? yeah it looks great sounds good..BUT what about when sh** hits the fan?? I think for me I would hold out some where close 4 a few. maybe bug out when its not so crazy? Under cover of night. then maybe you could find away to get outa their with no one to stop you....stop & think about your plan, know what roads are open & safe...
@kickmeintheballs1234 I agree, not really much of a test. If you have 30 min to go home and prepare to bug out, what are the roads going to be like then when the main populous is bailing out also. You would most likely be stuck in a huge traffic jams for hours or worse. Will you be able to pass the police checkpoints with your weapon in the car ? Just asking ?
A few more suggestions for bugout bags: I have a 30-day, 70 litre bugout bag including 30 Expedition grade freeze dried meals. They're compact and lightweight but are good sized 800 calorie meals, can be rehydrated with cold water if you can't boil water.
You're less likely to forget items if your B.O.B. is already packed and ready. I always use my B.O.B. for camping so I always have items that I don't really need with me but if I have to bug out it's ready to go.
@jonlocke83 True there's no point in having a bugout bag that isn't packed and ready to go, you need something you can just grab and go in five seconds in an emergency.
@Strelnikov10 Oh yeah man, I always replace MREs, Mounthouse meals, fire starters, and resharpen blades as soon as I get home from an outing. And I agree 100%, that's the only way it gets done.
I would like you to watch these videos and comment on them, although I also prep for the worst this guy has some good points and what I have seen over my military carrier things could turnout different to what we think. Please give me your opinion on this and maybe make a video to show your answer.
@cdo29mike I have alot of military exp, 5 years alone as a ranger in Iraq, and even I know theantiterrorist is a qwack. SOME of what he said is ok and MOST is bullshit and will get you killed in a real situation. survival is easy steps, be ready to do for yourself and your family, be physicaly and mentaly ready to kill another human, trust noone, help noone, stay to yourself as much as possible and use your brain always
@MarcfromTreasureNet1 Icall bullshit.......and french people are fucking pathetic pussies who take it in the ass, none is scared of you. and If you really are some rich guy in a castle then you can afford to come on over to phoenix arizona and tell me that to my face, or are you just a scared little bitch like I said? I predict that you will make up bullshit excuses not to come say it to my face and prove me right that your a lieing pussy who is scared.
@mattc1683 You shouldn't be jealous~it makes you look gay~ I would be happy to teach you how it feels to get your ass kicked by a real man just as soon as I dislodge your mom from my dick! Seriously though you are another little girl keyboard commando who plays too much call of duty. ~ We all call you SGT. GAY MOTHER FUCKER
Real pretty area...Do you really think anyone could recognize your location from your video? So many places around the US look similar, that it's HIGHLY UNLIKELY!!!!!!!!! Good job though...=)
Great video. Great idea about the look, listen, feel...never thought of it that way. Awesome point. Thanks so much for the video. I look forward to seeing more, you did a great job.
@BubbaEinstien teach your children to be brave and fight? what a stupid statement. i tell you what, surround your house with 30 hungry armed people, and put a gun in your childs hand. see how many shots get fired from that gun. i be its on, or one before theyre incapacitated by their emotions. the greatest bug out story ever told, the bielskis, went into their woods, and hid,for months, then fought back. the nazis never found them! and by the end nearly 1,300 jews had been saved.
@BubbaEinstien Yeahhhhh.. We'll see how long you last with that mentality.. Worked great for the Alamo, and everyone else who has tried to dig in and fight
@gwynn1975 I'll agree that there are times to fight, like if you're cornered or pretecting the members of your party. But just like always, it's a last resort. If you can avoid a fight of any kind that's the best option. And teaching kids to be combative is stupid. Hunting rabbits, defending themselves, and such is one thing, taking a life and engaging in a firefight....that's parenting at it's worst.
@gwynn1975 We need more of that mentality. not less. And speaking as a resident of Texas, the scenario at the alamo worked DAMN well if you look at the end result and desired goal. The alamo goal was to hold the mexican army off for a while not to win the war.
is your whole family one the same page with you ?? i have the prob of them just playing along but dont really get stuff for their own home. so i am basically the only person somewhat ready in my home
@iagui004 They are pretty much on the same page. They have their BOB's and we prep as far as stored food and everything. They just don't like to go "test" the stuff like I do. Good luck with your situation.
@iagui004 I've got the same situation. Buy my whole family lives over 1000 miles away. You can lead a horse to water... but you can't keep it from drowning itself.
Just one question - if your bug out location is hours away, what if you don't have enough fuel in the Jeep, and the electricity is down so the pumps at the station don't work? If possible, wouldn't it be better to find a location that is closer?
@NorgeJoe Very true, but the closer your BOL is to home, there better chance of other people occupying it. I usually try to keep the tank full. That's what the backpack is for too. What if the roads are closed and destroyed. Always have an alternative way to get there.. Thanks for watching
@SenseiTucker I really like the veil over a shemagh. You can wear it as a scarf, cover your face and still see through it, or you can cover your equipment and camo it. I think you will like it when you get it. Thanks for watching my friend
@ARKSN1PER The pants are 5.11 Tac-Lite Pro's and the hoody is just an old Thor Racing one.. The gloves are Mechanix Wear.. I will do a video on the clothes one of these days
Question, how or in what way did you explain to your family, that you were"buggin out" for the night? If I told my wife hey honey,i'm gonna run a bug out test run tonight, just out of nowhere, she would probably be like.....Riiiiiiiiiiight?
@theitaliankid80 HAHA.. I seriously just told them that I'd see them the next day. She was more worried about me being out there by myself. She also knows that I have more interest in "bugging out" then I do in bars. LOL
@GettingPrepared Honestly, I never thought about that. Great point. I just figured if it came to the point of me hiding out like that, I'd probably never return home, so I didn't plan that. Thanks for the heads up.
I'd like to see someone try firestarting the 'traditional' ways and not use magnesium/sparkers/matches/etc. They make it look easy on TV (Bear, I'm looking at you buddy) but I'm guessing it's hard as hell.
@dsarti1 I would probably cook it all and wrap as much as I could in the tin foil.. If it's cooked, you can re-cook it to kill any bacteria.. (if I couldn't make a teepee smoker out there)
gwynn1975, great video- It`s refreshing to someone that talks the talk can walk the walk. The only thing missing is a dog, When in the bush I get much better sleep with my dog around she`s my motion detector.
@lisapizza8 I thought about bringing the dogs, but I want to stay hidden as much as possible.. My dogs are all "barkers" and unfortunately, I'm not willing to compromise my position because of the dogs barking at a raccoon or something
Do you preposition any gear or supplies at or near your designated hide-a-way spot? Could save you a little bit of effort to grab everything and leave something behind by accident. Maybe a burial system?
@hotstuff7655 I don't want to bury anything out there, because that area might be compromised by the time I get there.. I would rather keep everything in the Jeep
@CdnLifeguard71 It totally brought forward some hiccups.. I need to keep everything packed together.. I was running all over the house getting the last minute items like flashlights that I carry EDC or in my hiking packs.. I need to just buy more and keep them in the BOB all the time.. Thanks for watching
Flawless video my friend, excellent as always. One could really sit there all day and think of all the items they would need but you really never know till you just grab and go like you did, that's when you realize what you need and what you may have forgotten. Every time I watch your videoa I not only learn something new I realize something that I have overlooked for myself. Thank you, keep up the amazing videos. -Tim
@TheTacticalDefender Thank you Tim.. Unfortunately, I'm one of those that sits around and day dreams of what is in my BOB and what I need to add or remove.. LOL.. Thanks for watching
excelent to see you testing your bob its a shame no one could do it with you and you could test signaling eachother in a manner that other people wouldnt reqognise as signaling
Do it at least twice a yr, and prepare for the seasonal differences. imo . I have multiples for bugin/bugout, and have made sure I can clear and load for secondary bugin's in 10min. Nice how you had to deal with the dark, and sitting to check our your environment. Something I have found when doing that is, it isn't what you thought in the dark, when it's a place you have never been before. LOL. You just never know how it will go, and that's part of prepping too. Great vid and prep.
@bigc028282 Thank you bigc... I'm going to try to do this atleast 4 times a year.. My Jeep will always be packed for seasonal differences. thanks for the tips..
@TheBgcheez I think it is a very valuable lesson to learn.. How can you use something if you don't know how too? That's the way I see it.. Thanks for watching
Awesome video - nice job and it is great to test out your gear. How ironic! My son and I decided to do something somewhat similar (although ours was more mild and felt a little more like camping) on Saturday! We tested out three of our packs - hiked about a mile into the wilderness and learned what to improve. Great job!
@jolietjake1970 Thank you so much.. I had a lot of fun.. Just wish I would have remembered the extra memory cards..I had a lot more filming to do.. LOL.. Thanks for watching

gwynn1975 1 year ago 23
@gwynn1975 I'll agree that there are times to fight, like if you're cornered or pretecting the members of your party. But just like always, it's a last resort. If you can avoid a fight of any kind that's the best option. And teaching kids to be combative is stupid. Hunting rabbits, defending themselves, and such is one thing, taking a life and engaging in a firefight....that's parenting at it's worst.
jonlocke83 3 months ago
@gwynn1975 We need more of that mentality. not less. And speaking as a resident of Texas, the scenario at the alamo worked DAMN well if you look at the end result and desired goal. The alamo goal was to hold the mexican army off for a while not to win the war.
dentonk1 2 months ago
@dentonk1 It also encouraged others to join the fight! "Remember the Alamo!"

is your whole family one the same page with you ?? i have the prob of them just playing along but dont really get stuff for their own home. so i am basically the only person somewhat ready in my home
iagui004 1 year ago
@iagui004 They are pretty much on the same page. They have their BOB's and we prep as far as stored food and everything. They just don't like to go "test" the stuff like I do. Good luck with your situation.
gwynn1975 1 year ago
@iagui004 I've got the same situation. Buy my whole family lives over 1000 miles away. You can lead a horse to water... but you can't keep it from drowning itself.

Excellent! Realistic test, too.

Just one question - if your bug out location is hours away, what if you don't have enough fuel in the Jeep, and the electricity is down so the pumps at the station don't work? If possible, wouldn't it be better to find a location that is closer?
NorgeJoe 1 year ago
@NorgeJoe Very true, but the closer your BOL is to home, there better chance of other people occupying it. I usually try to keep the tank full. That's what the backpack is for too. What if the roads are closed and destroyed. Always have an alternative way to get there.. Thanks for watching

Was wondering if the veil/scarf is a good buy. Just ordered one from OpsGear.com. I wanted one for hunting and trekking in cold weather.
SenseiTucker 1 year ago
@SenseiTucker I really like the veil over a shemagh. You can wear it as a scarf, cover your face and still see through it, or you can cover your equipment and camo it. I think you will like it when you get it. Thanks for watching my friend

Hey I wanted to know if you could do a vid on your clothing you would wear in a bug out. Also what clothing do you have on in this vid?
ARKSN1PER 1 year ago
@ARKSN1PER The pants are 5.11 Tac-Lite Pro's and the hoody is just an old Thor Racing one.. The gloves are Mechanix Wear.. I will do a video on the clothes one of these days
gwynn1975 1 year ago
Question, how or in what way did you explain to your family, that you were"buggin out" for the night? If I told my wife hey honey,i'm gonna run a bug out test run tonight, just out of nowhere, she would probably be like.....Riiiiiiiiiiight?
theitaliankid80 1 year ago
@theitaliankid80 HAHA.. I seriously just told them that I'd see them the next day. She was more worried about me being out there by myself. She also knows that I have more interest in "bugging out" then I do in bars. LOL
gwynn1975 1 year ago

The only thing missing is a dog, When in the bush I get much better sleep with my dog around she`s my motion detector.
lisapizza8 1 year ago
@lisapizza8 I thought about bringing the dogs, but I want to stay hidden as much as possible.. My dogs are all "barkers" and unfortunately, I'm not willing to compromise my position because of the dogs barking at a raccoon or something
gwynn1975 1 year ago
Do you preposition any gear or supplies at or near your designated hide-a-way spot? Could save you a little bit of effort to grab everything and leave something behind by accident. Maybe a burial system?
hotstuff7655 1 year ago
@hotstuff7655 I don't want to bury anything out there, because that area might be compromised by the time I get there.. I would rather keep everything in the Jeep

Good video Trevor - Has the test run shown some organizational problems with collecting and exiting with your gear. If so, how will you remedy it?
CdnLifeguard71 1 year ago
@CdnLifeguard71 It totally brought forward some hiccups.. I need to keep everything packed together.. I was running all over the house getting the last minute items like flashlights that I carry EDC or in my hiking packs.. I need to just buy more and keep them in the BOB all the time.. Thanks for watching
gwynn1975 1 year ago
Flawless video my friend, excellent as always. One could really sit there all day and think of all the items they would need but you really never know till you just grab and go like you did, that's when you realize what you need and what you may have forgotten. Every time I watch your videoa I not only learn something new I realize something that I have overlooked for myself. Thank you, keep up the amazing videos. -Tim

If you had made contact with someone while you were there, would they have flipped out seeing you walking around with a rifle?
DangerousDude2010 1 year ago
@DangerousDude2010 Not around here.. It's common to hunt coyotes with an AR15.. Plus we have a military base close by too..
But, I would probably hide from them if I heard or saw them first, just to practice my "sneaky" skills.. LOL

Awesome video - nice job and it is great to test out your gear. How ironic! My son and I decided to do something somewhat similar (although ours was more mild and felt a little more like camping) on Saturday! We tested out three of our packs - hiked about a mile into the wilderness and learned what to improve. Great job!
