I was there during July and that was an especially hot summer, the semi were louder than normal.

They where still loud when I went to Japan in September last year, but I liked it, especial in Tokyo.

Man are they ever loud! do they do that at night too? It'd be really hard to sleep if they did :/

They can be deafening in Japan. Their call is a bit different than our local ones who are fewer.

The cicadas haven't come out in full force yet here in Tokyo....Must be hotter down in Kansai.
