  • 0:02 and the number 26 have both been kidnapped by Eggman.

  • Nice find! I've played this game almost 3,762 times, and never notices.

I just notice "Hey, I can get a Chaos Emerald now!

  • It's very simple, they put 2 rings pixel perfectly to the same place so they completely overlap eachother

  • In soviet mobius, 26 means nothing.

  • double ring all the wayyy oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • ya...it skips "one" big deal.

  • you used the lock on huh

  • I remember the first time I got this game. I was just exploring around and found this. obviously there was no YouTube at the time.

  • @kalennate101two And I was referring to the rest of his videos.

  • @kalennate101two Yeah, do your homework.

  • For that ring, I will give you all of my dollars!

  • wasn't aware of this, then again it isn't much of a big deal, its not exactly game breaking.

  • in sonic 3 too!

  • *mind blown*

  • Oh crap I posts the below comment just to realize someone below mentioned it already O____O

  • There are two rings like this in Emerald Hill Zone in Sonic 2 on top of one of the loops in act 2.

  • In Angel Island, 27 comes after 25!

  • @foxskywalker64 then that means they count stupid

  • when they where making the game they probably put two there by accident and did not notice this... cool though :D

  • The top of the last loop in Emerald Hill Zone Act 2 in Sonic 2 has something similar. If I remember right, two of the rings in the right ring pyramid on top of the loop are worth 2 rings.

  • wow, an easter egg :O

  • Hmmm... It could be a joke put in purpose by the sonic team.

  • that or the developers at sega could not count

  • wow thats cool twice the rings extra lives quicker

  • wow cool xD

  • epic WIN

  • 24...25...27..28=WIN! Really cool glitch. Love your videos. Keep em' posting nineko!

  • Nice one dude

  • Is it also present in Sonic 3 alone?

  • Yes.

  • There is a Double Ring in Lava Reef Zone Act 1.

  • Hah! You're really good at S3K findings :P

  • hmm...I have to check that out. I hope my sonic 3 cartridge still works after the game genieing I did to it

  • RAM/Temp. ROM modification doesn't harm cartridges, sir.

  • I knew it! I did wonder if this was actually just my ROM, but now I know it isn't. I didn't think to check in SonEd ^^;

  • I immediately had to go check that out, that's a pretty interesting find.

As far is glitch vs error, it's probably just a mistake on the behalf of the level designers. They placed the ring sprite twice, and the identical placement hid the double layered ring and it was looked over.

  • Glitch? Mistake? What could it be?

  • Looks like some one forgot to make sure that there were no extra rings in Angel Island.

  • That's really amazing.

  • i bet it's an easter egg :P

  • weird. glitch? or a programming error? could be both.

  • Probably some level design glitch.

  • Huh... I NEVER noticed that.

Makes me wonder if there are any more like that.
