Isn't that the definition of "The Shaft." That's already a very widely-established in the employment workplace.
The funny thing is that Dave always seemed to represent us. He was the normal, rational and logical person in the middle of all this insanity and absurdity. Dave was always... us. Well, us and the show's writers.
Everyone's reaction to all this movie and favoritism is what truly made this episode work.
