  • You mention that under the internal assessment (strengths and weaknesses) we are in search of information that covers "capabilities/brand/processes". What specific items under these headings should we focus on?

  • THANK YOU!! SO MUCH !!

  • Thanks so much for explaining a SWOT set up. Your video helped me to understand my marketing book!

  • STOP MOVING CAMERAGUY

  • @klaariskeesiskees Yea, most video presentations are filmed from a tripod for a reason. It might seem convenient to have a cameraman standing there ready to pan from the whiteboard to the speaker, or adjust the camera angel to the movement of the speaker, but in practice that's totally unnecessary. Just put the camera in the back of the room so you can a clear head-on shot of the whiteboard, and you can zoom in to the speaker's face or whiteboard during the presentation as appropriate.

  • I agree.. Erica you rock the SWOT ANALYSIS! tweeted, facebooked, g+ ed stumbled upon and tumbled by @gayecrispin .. fabulous and well done :)

  • best SWOT intro! ty :)

  • really gud explanation!! :) ty!

  • that is called a TOWS analis what she do with the swot, where she find goal statemends

  • hey whats that song in the very beginning? Please tell me i'm dying to know...

  • Best and god work

  • Best SWOT explanation and review I have ever seen. Excellent job.

  • Thank you Erica, that was nothing less but a great presentation. I wish u could elaborate more deeply at how we should use those data to generate ideas. because its more of an art rather than science. Specifically my questions are:

whats the different between capabilities and processes? and whats the different between SWOT analysis and TOWS matrix? Is the TOWS matrix only serves as the virtual extension of SWOT analysis? Can we call the ideas that generated through a SWOT analysis as strategies?

  • I've done SWOT with an NGO and this is a great way of explaining it. I added this video to my most recent blog post because you really broke it down simply and effectively. Thank you Erica!

  • For more detail theoretical information about the SWOT analysis see the website scienceprogress.nl

  • oooooooooooo love you for this thankyou ummmmmmmmmmmmmmuaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Thank You! SWOT is a part of every assignment at school so the tutors have spent a lot of time explaining it, but still somehow fail to put it so nice and easy as in this video.

  • I got 3 words for this... BRRRR .... IIILLLLLL... ANT.... We done.. I love the simple and straight forwardness... Thanks

  • I must have read the Chapter in my book on SWOT 7 times before I gave up and googled it. I watched this video one time and BAM! I got it. Thanks so much!

  • Excelent, thanks very much Erika!!!...also i like you way of being....

  • Excelent, thanks very much Erika!!!

  • Thank you Reese witherspoon

  • Orika u r simply awsome :)

  • Nice crisp explanation. However, TOWS instead of SWOT is a more effective order of doing a situational analysis. Threats and Opportunities are PERSPECTIVES of changes in the macro environment. These changes can be found out using PESTEL analysis and/or porter's 5 forces framework.

Also, I hope this doesn't discredit my 2 cents of contribution. But, lady, you're hot!

  • Thanks for posting this great video on SWOT analysis. Can you please add TRENDS. Would that be both internal and external features. Please provide additional feedback. Thank you!

  • Greetings from Chicago, thank you so much for th ebreakdown =)

Thanks for the kind effort !

  • Will you marry me lol...you are tooo clever.

  • I have worked through three large corporate environments from retail to SaaS for over a decade. In all that time I have never seen someone put together a SWOT exercise like the one you showed here. The way you have broken this down is brilliant and should be part of every corporate training curriculum.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for putting this video together. I'll be sharing this with everyone at my office Monday morning.

  • @DoublePlusGoodGames So glad we could help. Would love to hear how your company reacts to using a SWOT anaylsis!

  • This is very clear and very helpful for the audiences. Thanks Erica.

  • Spot On, Erica...Awesome Explanation...I managed to get clarity on SWOT atlast by watching your video...An example could have helped me to relate even better and practice performing SWOT analysis.

By the way, I admired your communication. May you please post some videos on how to communicate or improve communication or kill speech blockers?

    Thanks a lot. Cheers,John

  • @zulfi721 Great! I'm glad you enjoyed it

  • @SlydWayyzz Thanks! Glad we could help!

  • Beautiful presentation, you are awesome!

  • @Soulenergy1976 Thanks!

  • Like~

  • I prefer using 'SNOT analysis' instead of SWOT where the "N" stands for Needs. The organisation can focus on needs (areas of opportunity) rather than weaknesses!

  • the lecturer is beautiful, i cant concentrate on what she says...lol i have to look for some videos of male teachers, would be better

  • Very good presentation, specially i like the moment when you draw an arrow from Ideas to Goal statement ;) i think it shoud be vice versa from Goal statement to ideas.

  • Thanks for the thoughts. Appreciate any new ideas and very glad the video was helpful.

  • I want you to be my teacher

  • I'm doing a case analysis for my management class and I think this video just saved my project.

  • A master piece and a very easy way of making understand the new learners.......... i like that

  • i love u......

  • you said oppor. and threats are external, but lemme tell you being a marketer and Ph.D student, that these things could be internal as well as external.... how.. i would tell you if u 'd get back to me.. otherwise try to think , you 'r good enough to find those 2

  • Excellent... your presentation will help me a lot in my assignment...

    Thanks

  • Very good - will link this on my online course (Intro to Electronic Commerce)

  • Thanks

  • Desi, that's because graduate schools throw darts to pick their students most of the time. I'm fully convinced that they don't pick students who are intelligent or persistent, they pick students that can pass a standardized exam with colors and fit their diversity quota.

  • There is a story I have to share with you all. For my strategy management class, one of the group members was asked to do a SWOT analysis.. I don't know how people get an admission into the MBA program!

what he did was, he just did the SW, leaving the OT, thinking it was Okay to do so.. and added 3 of the porters 5 forces model. The syllabus clearly stated either SWOT or the 5F model... He had no idea what he was doing!

  • oh by the way, supposedly, first mover advantage was a STRENGTH according to him!!!

    Jeez!!!

  • Great Job on describing the SWOT!!

  • wow i did this in global challenges at work and think you´re hotter than my prof...

  • omg so sweet and so clever ;) wanna mary me??

  • Thanks Erica for your insight and vision in creating this advantage. I have question for you. I am a Coordinator for Professional Teaching and learning for North Carolina Virtual Public School and my work focuses on leaders with districts to move e-learning forward. Most districts block you Tube and I would like to embed this video in Blackboard, so is it possible to upload your video to Teacher Tube? I would so greatly appreciate it.

  • Hi, all your presentation are really good one and inspiring. Thanks and all the best.

  • great presentation

  • she missed a very imortant point in "oportuneties" box which is M&A and Joint Venture.

  • I like your work very much. However, a positive twist on a weakness does not necessarily make it a strength or area of opportunity. Strength + opportunity = natural growth. Weakness + opportunity = follower?

  • too confusing!!!

  • I really like the fact that you say "Now what do we do with this?". So many businesses do the analysis, but then do nothing with it, making the exercise a waste of time.

  • A good explanation - beautiful lady.

  • Thanks for the information. My teacher recommeded your video to our class.

  • You are not using the SWOT properly, you are confusing people and this could be because you didn't learn SWOT properly. Be careful in mis-directing people

  • practical - usefull

  • very smart, I like ur way.

  • sorry, I meant weaknesses and threats!!!

  • Being able to separate primary and secondary data particularly in terms of the weaknesses and strenghts, has always been a bit of a problem, you have gone someway to giving me ideas..Thanks for the upload

  • This is some very useful information. Thanks for the information.

  • Many thanks!

  • great work ...

  • thanks lady

  • Nice Job
