  • Great video! Always wondered how to do this. Thanks a lot from Vancouver, Canada!

  • I just bought some mussels but they seem to be already boiled. What method of cooking would you recommend or can I still cook them usual?

  • @4errors Soaking for 20 mins in freshwater is fine. What is to be avoided is leaving them in freshwater overnight. Some people even suggest adding oatmeal or flour to the water! Never do this!

  • @ShellfishGB

you have to preserve mussels in a cotton cloth and in a fresh place (low refrigerator).

see also my recipe on my channel if you want.

    and let me know

    ciao, anna

  • i bought some mussels i dont know how to cook them

  • @TheRODNEYD707 Easiest way is to steam them. Add a small amount of water to a pan, add the mussels and boil for 3 mins. The mussels will open and gently cook. You can them remove the mussels and use the water (with the liquer from the mussels) to make a sauce to pour over the cooked mussels. Enjoy!

  • @ShellfishGB what he said ^

  • I am student and all i have left in my freezer is bloody mussels left to eat!

  • If they're still closed after going in the pot alive, I just take out the cooked ones and cook the unopened ones longer until they open.

  • Unopend may indicated the mussel is dead or merely uncooked. Either way it is sensible to discard unopened mussels once they are cooked.

  • @ShellfishGB

    do not use unopened mussels.
