  • This is one of my most favorite cartoon shows of all time

  • Does anyone have Deven's phone #? I want to hook up with her!

  • drummer not convincing

  • The best albums ever to peak at #199 on the charts. Very underrated!

  • Deven English=Schwing!

  • Sort of reminds me of the Archie opening.

  • At 0:09 look on the right side of the screen. A mysterious arm reaches into the shot.

  • @RSG2006 I think it may be Tony Prito, but I'm not sure...

  • @RSG2006 you are right

  • the Hardy boys were kidnapped and never seen again. In 1978, two men claiming to be the Hardy boys, Parker Stevenson and Shaun Cassidy tried unsuccesfully to solve the mystery of the clueless clones. Leonard Nimoy beat them to it....

  • Thank You!!!! I have not seen this in over 50 years

  • @Airsoftcleaner they showed this in the 80's in syndication

  • Oh boy! I was mad about this cartoon front the 60´s. oh I am longing for my childhood.

  • The Hardy Boys were actually Mormons and now they each have about 8 wives, the youngest of which are about age 14.

  • HOLLY CRAP, BATMAN.......the last time I saw this was......the last

time the cartoon sereis was on Saturday moring tv in the early 70's!!

Thank you for posting this. I had a great trip down memory lane!!

  • So who are these kids in the clip? IMDb mentions the voice actors and the rest of the crew, but they don't list the names of the actors in the live-action intro. Clearly these *aren't* the same people doing the voice acting. Anyone know anything about 'em? I don't know why I care, but suddenly I just want to know if any of them went on to bigger or worse things, or if this was all they got.

  • Man, it's been 41 years that these were The Cool & Sweet ABC TV Saturday Morning Memories!

  • i heard tom cruise and ben still are making a movie called the hardy men anyone heard about this

  • wow...

  • LMAO NO WAY DUDE! I REMEMBER IT WAS MY 1ST DAY OF 2ND GRADE. AS I GOT READY FOR SCHOOL THE TV WAS ON AND THAT PLAYED! IT HAS BEEN 28 YEARS SINCE I SAW THAT!

  • Shaun Cassidy & Parker Stevenson's show was so much better, but this is fun to remember, too. These guys even had their own logo ... what could've been, huh? Blonde guy looks like he's wearing a wig, though.

  • i read the comics!

  • The live band intro was later used on "The Kid Super Power Hour With Shazam," also from Filmation. Some Archie shows also had a live audience.

  • didnt someone leave a comment about the drummer not hitting the drums hard enough??????

  • For some reason, the blond guy with the guitar reminds me of Johnny from "KARATE KID." Sweep the guitar, sensei! LOL

Seriously, classic theme song. When I was a kid, I'd sometimes turn it on, listen to the theme and then watch something else!

  • i thought this was gonna be matt and jeff hardy =)

  • lol sme

  • I'm just converting my video of this cartoon to dvd

for posterity, then on to Bigfoot and Wildboy!!

From what I understand, this is the first cartoon that had a black character (!)

    way back in 1969. Yikes!

  • Once you get it to DVD, please upload it. It hasn't aired in 30 something years so I don't think youtube is going to care.=!

  • its REALLY bad!!

the voice of the Chubby (read: Chet) Morton guy just ruins it!

Did just post a review of the video of the cartoon however!

  • I agree. It's like filmation is trying to make it bad. And it's not just this show , it's all of the filmation ones. Guess HB, Ruby Spears, WB, Disney, and DiC took all the good ones!

  • What about Josie and the pussycats, with Valerie? They were on at the same time.

  • What about Fat Albert and the Cosby kids and The Jackson 5. I'm sure there were others, thing is, we had shows like that and The Mod Squad (where Clarence Williams III played "Linc" .not "the missing link") Sad the way the world has turned out! What is race , creed and colour to a blind man? Ask the wonderful Stevie Wonder! The good lord will make things right again I'm sure! Cheers.

  • when MICHAEL JACKSON THRILLER was at its peak, a local station showed the JACKSON 5 cartoon in my area!!!

  • God I hate Chubby (Chet)'s

    voice in the cartoon!

  • lol =)))))))))) jeff and matt changed drastic

  • lol

  • and I gave my album away...but I kept all The Archie's albums...MANY MANY THANKS for posting...

  • This IS the HARDY BOY'S I'm LOOKING FOR-Keep the nostalgia coming!!!!!

    almost forgotten this. :)

  • Sorry...

  • I am not saying that I produced the CONTENT of the clip that you are viewing here. I did, however, produce the ACTUAL CLIP THAT YOU ARE WATCHING featuring SOMEONE ELSE'S CONTENT that you see here. If YouTube wants to take it off, take it off. If you are unhappy with it, tell YouTube to take it off. May you be blessed today in Jesus' name...

  • I have "Clue of the Screching Owl " Sink Or Swime and "Yellow Fether Mystery " on vhs If you would like a coppy Sheeb And I love the work that you have done here Jesus has bless me with you. thanks so mutch.

  • @yellowjacket9805 Would you upload it? I'd be interested in seeing some episodes.

  • @MRLOL785 @yellowjacket9805 I have about 12 different episodes, including those. The thing I do NOT have is time!!! Maybe someday!!!

  • I love The hardy Boys.Thak you . I was looking for this video for a long time and I´ve finnally found it.

  • OH BOY!!!! GOLLY GEE WILLIKERS!!!

Those were nicer times. Wish we could go back to then. I ain't kidding.

  • I went through my Hardy Boys videos to see what songs I have. I have "Carnival Time,""One Time In A Million", "Feels So Good" & "Hello Girl". Hello Girl was not released on either of their 2 albums but is a song that lead singer Reed Kailing wrote and recorded years earlier with his group "The Destinations" What's cool is this rerecording is a bit different from the original version which I have on 45rpm. When I get time, I will try and post these videos.

  • I love to have "One Time In A Million' my faverrite Hardy Boys song

  • @yellowjacket9805 i think i have the song

  • i think i have the song

  • This animated cartoon was telecasted also in Japan.

It was attractive and I liked music that flowed on the way all.

    Thank you for Mr. SkeebWilcox.

  • are they getting a raging clue?

  • I have a raging clue...........

  • wow, that was a little weird. i like the hardys but i've never seen the shows and stuff. the way they were singing it, was weird.

  • WOW - BLAST from the DISTANT PAST!!

  • i thought it would be Joe and Frank from the books and there in ATAC american teens against crime

  • The Hardy Boys animated series (1969-1971)

In 1969, ABC ran a Saturday Morning cartoon series (produced by Filmation). In this series the Hardy boys are in a rock band and use it as a front to investigate mysteries. The animated series produced two bubblegum music albums released by RCA: Here Come The Hardys and Wheels. Several singles from the albums were also released. For the professional wrestling tag team, see Hardy Boyz . For the professional wrestling tag team, see Hardy Boyz .

  • i remember this in syndicated re runs on a UHF station in the early to mid 80's!!!

  • omg i luv the hardy boys!

  • More's the pity, Dino. This cartoon show inspired me to start reading the original novels by Franklin W. Dixon!

Of course, as I was an adolescent when this show first aired, my favorite character was Wanda Kay. Rowr-rowr!

  • WK was cute, but i always had a crush on Carolyn Wilson from Skyhawks! still burn a candle for her to this day......

  • I had a lot of cartoon crushes, back then. One of them sort of resembled Carolyn Wilson. Although, she was actually a tambourine-playing trapezist for a rock group called "the Clown Family" (think "the Partridge Family as circus performers")! Then, there was Suzy Chan, eldest daughter of the Charlie Chan Clan. They also had their own rock group, for whom she played tambourine. I wonder what Freud would say about that? ;-)

  • no tambourine-playing with CW,but man,could she fly a plane!

  • Ladies, first!

  • i wonder who this SoullessOpeth guy is telling to get a life? i,m making a 6-figure income,so until he can do as well.....besides,what we like is what we like.....! if he don,t...Tough Schlitz.

  • Well said! :-)

  • let,s see him fly a 757.....!

  • we win...!

  • ok I,m in shock!!!when the hell was there a hardy boys cartoon?any1 have or know where to find them?

  • Try 1969-71 when aired Saturday mornings on ABC. As for eps, ask Skeeb.

  • Dude, you're 38 years old. Don't you remember this? I used to love this cartoon as a little kid in the early 70's and used to sing along to it:)

  • @starwarsrebel2006 I'm older and I sort of remember this in reruns later on but forgot they had this cover story of being rock stars too. I think the Archies cartoon show was like this too

  • Back in the 60's. Can't you tell? I used to watch it holding on to whatever book I HB mystery I was into at that time.

  • i was thinking aobut the WEE wrestle Hardy Boys lol xaxa

  • OH! lol I was thinking WWE Hardys

  • P.S. why not redo this series over again? Both as a lve action film that's compadible with an animated feature----"Rich" Kiambu AbdulMalik Akhdarr

  • The concept of the cartoon HardyBoys series was on the money its just that it was mismanaged, they fail to realize that before you can capitalize off something, that particular thing must first be sensational

  • SWANTON BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 00:36 wow, that drummer's on crack!

  • Wow - I remember this, I was about 5 years old, thanks for the memories. Awesome!

  • WTF

  • rofl, sp

  • Is homicidal tendancies a normal reaction to this? Cause after listening to that, I want to kill someone...

  • Does anyone remember the 70's comic book that came out. I could only find one issue. Does anyone remember the new comic book version of the Hardy Boys? That one was a three issue and nothing else came out with the Hardy Boys after that.

  • My good Horsefreak, I was talking about episodes of this series, the 1969-71 Filmation cartoon.

  • Wikipedia says it is unknown if any episodes of this show are still in existence.

  • there are many different episodes out. there was one filmed in 1995 and then everyone's favorite, Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson.

  • Where can i get a CD?

  • You Can't. Two LP's were produced during the series run. The second LP is somewhat hard to find and is somewhat of a collector's item. The first one is the strongest of the two. Both albums can be found on the World's Ongoing Garage Sale,

    Ebay.

  • where can you get the cd of there music?

  • Thanks for posting this! As a kid I remember watching every week to see the girl singer w/the miniskirt and tambourine. Does anyone know if she did other TV work?

  • her real name was Devon English, from somewhere in the Denver/Boulder area. seems she only did this opening scene and the two Hardy boys album cover pics, and just dropped off the radar after that. she,s probably a grandmother now....i hope/pray she,s OK.

  • Thanks for the information. And, Merry Xmas! :-)

  • Was the opening live action Hardy Boys sequence done in the same studio for the live action audience for Archie's Funhouse a year later?

  • im getting a raging clue

  • "It was huuuuuuuge!"

  • I sang this song from memorey at Christmas and I may have gotten 3 words worng but I watched it every morning before school in the 70's TV38 Boston.

  • Yep! Seems like a long time ago till I saw this.

    Wow! huh?

  • Wow! Despite not having heard it in decades this songs has actually popped up in my head a few times while doing dishes or laundry. Thanks for the post and Thank God for YouTube!

  • A couple of Milwaukeeans cast in the lead roles. The dark haired one is Reed Kailing who went on to play with the Grass Roots and Player (Baby Get Back) and the Blond was originally the lead singer from the Messengers (Midnight Hour, Just Like Romeo & Juliet)

  • The Hardy boys...two young whippersnappers with a knack for solving mysteries. Oh my, Im getting a raging clue right now.

  • south park :D

  • Since when did "The Hardy Boys" include a hot tambourine chick?

  • It's either Callie Shaw or Iola Morton lol

  • Actually, the animated verson of the girl was hardly in any of the cartoon episodes. She only appeared about two or three and that's it.

  • And that happened to be Wanda Kay Breckinridge, voiced by Jane Webb (aka Betty and Veronica from the Archies)

  • I hated the voice on the "Chet" character

    appalling

  • Well, I suppose you can blame it on Dallas McKennon, who also played Archie Andrews on the Archie Show. Btw, he also once hosted a kids how in the 1950s, which I believe was Gumby.

  • Interestingly, the group was formed somewhat in response to the Archies success. In 1969 when "Sugar Sugar" became such a monster hit for the Archies, there was no band to help promote the song so it and the other songs that became hits from that show couldn't be performed. However, Don Kirshner decided that he would hedge his bets and form a real life version of the Hardy Boys band so that the songs could be performed live.

  • Late 60's Eary 70's 5 years before The Live action show in 77 with Parker Stevenson + Shaun Cassady witch became a megga hit!

  • That is awesome - actually remember that tune well. Never saw this in colour - thx!!!

  • :P That was funny...I wasn't alive when this show was on but I was always a fan of the Hardy Boys books when I was little :) That's awesome, they should make a new series

  • Yeah, Rock n Roll!!!!!!!

  • OMG! This has made my day! Back in 1970-something, my sister & I watch this cartoon ever Saturday an thought this was the best thing ever!!!!.....ROFL! I am in convulsions of laughter. This is by far the best thing I have seen on YouTube. Thanks for the laughs!

  • Yes, I too thought that this was the greatest cartoon show ever! Glad you enjoyed it and trust me I am TRYING to get around to posting a couple of the song clips from the shows, so check back!

  • GREAT!!! I will check back for sure!!! I cannot tell you how many memories this brought back! I have saved to my "favorites" and will watch this again & again. So GREAT and FUNNY too (seems os old-fashioned now) but also like it wasn't that long ago either.

  • Wanda Kay{Devon English} is just soooooo SMEXAH!!!! YUM,YUM! Al C.,Captain,COAir.

  • Speechless...

  • Dear God, PLEASE post a clip of this show! I had a Major flashback when I saw this and I must see more!

  • I am really busy with "real" work right now, but I am going to get around to doing a couple of the song clips. As for the show itself, I thought it was the greatest cartoon in the world (along with "Hot Wheels")...but when I saw it for the first time in 35 years, I wondered what the heck I was thinking when I was ten years old! I will try to get some of the music clips, though.

  • i loved Skyhawks too! Carolyn was my first "crush" as an 8-year old! man, could she fly a plane!

  • You should check out some of my clips of other classic cartoon made by Filmation on my channel! There are some I never saw before and I put them together as a tribute to the founders of the company who were Lou Scheimer, Hal Sutherland and the late Norm Prescott (1927-2005).

  • Funny!!!

  • oh that is soooooooo bad- IT'S HILARIOUS!!!

  • holy god....brilliant
