i do have really silky ashblond hair from natur so what i found very helpful was to put gel in my wet hair, even some mouses worke really well for me if i use a lot, i saw you re from the us, as im from europe i cant really tell you where to get the products i use ..but i really would consider trying cheaper drugstore brands as i found that they work actually the best for me and also a tipp, just try a lot of different styling products in order to find the right product x)

if you have dark hair, i would bleach first and then use a permanent hairdye on the parts you want to be red, it depends on how bright you want the red to be, if you want a really violent coulor u would have to bleach it depending on the bleching produkt u use a second time and then use a semipermanent dye..thing is they dont last very long, you can wash your hair with cold water to keep the colour longer..but well XD its cold
