Sure, there are bands with breakdowns and crazy riffs and shit, they weren't the first. But in terms of their tonality and stuff, I can't really think of many bands like them. I guess Periphery and Arusha Accord are similar.

I mean, I'm not an expert, but you still can't really say they're generic screamo. Definitely not just metalcore. Listen to the choruses and the atonal riffs, not to mention the mindfuck rhythms.
