Nice to see it played in a downpour, sorry it was artificial turf. Would have been a blast to to see this in the mud and muck. Knute Rocknye would have been smiling.
Excellent video! Germany has one mean American football team. It warms my heart seeing my beloved game being played worldwide. You just got yourself a new subscriber! :)
@Sherwin930 Because they would completely dominate the other countries. the rule for the US were something along the lines of this: no D1 FBS players the players could not have had any affiliation with any professional team, and they couldn't have been out of college for more than a year.
@daijme I know the won by 3 in overtime, someone asked if the US used pros. I stated that if they did it would be a complete blowout. They took people using a strict set of guidelines that, limited who can play. the guidelines are summarized in my previous comment
@Poptartza Ya US would wreck everybody but I think if Canada was to send their top team made of their proffesionals, like the Euro countries and Japan do, (although most of them are smei pro), then Canada would far and away be second place after the States of course. Canada has just as long a history as the States but we arent as good but I still think we are on another level from Japan just wish we could at least send CFL'ers (second hisghest pro football league)
other then the fact canadians have beat the americans in the past and we had a ton of players not even try out for our team canada which is a huge factor in this years outcome its like the same thing for hockey both teams compete and its only a matter of time before other countries do too
The name doesn't matter really?? We just call football within the club football, but at times it's rather lame to actually need to tell people you play AMERICAN football and not football... but meh.
I am a man who loves sports and i would like to see the good game of american football get out there for others to enjoy. If i a sports wish. It would be for all the nations of the world to have pro rugby soccer baseball basketball and A Football. Imaging a universal sport tornament as big and if not bigger than FIFA for each one of these sports! glorious!
no it isn't - that was in 2008 (and Germany won :) :) :) ). This video was taken during worldcup in Kawasaki/Japan in 2007 - Germany was 3rd, Sweden 4th in the end.
Who is this #33 on Sweden? He's a good fullback/ runningback. I like how these out of the states football teams really play smash mouth, old fashioned football. Except for Japan, who are studly and tactical.
I wish Korea had an American Football team. All we have is national Rugby team lolz hahaha. Rugby is interesting and all but personally I like American football more since i grew up in the US.
USA is not even number one football nation but Japan, Sweden is 3d or 4 or something aint i right? Sweden, Finland and Germany is on about the same level and usually compete about the European gold, i think it was Sweden that took the last European championship gold.
First off, to geogenerated..."Not a real classy coach imo, and below avg for charisma and leadership." Are you serious?! You obviously have not seen this man coach. He can motivate his players, and has earned the respect of everyone one of his players that he has ever coached in the U.S.A. and Sweden. He wins. You too, along with googledog, should know what you're talking about before you speak. Your both idiots.
First off, to googledog...your an idiot. That "little league coach" has never coached little league in his life! He has coached ONLY ON THE COLLEGIATE LEVEL! Your an idiot, know what you're talking about before you speak.
I dont think that its your sons coach's fault that they went for 0-10, have you ever thought that it might have been your sons and the rest of the teams fault ;))

90% of people outside America don't even know what 'American Football' is.
99.99% wouldn't know there is a so-called 'world cup of American Football'.

That's not entirely fair.
It is like a downpour.
I'd say they're like D-III college players. They're getting better.
Especially Germany. Their kids at the 2009 Jr World Championship were real good.
There are great rivalries forming between Mexico, Canada, Japan, and Germany.
USA has no rivals no matter what some Canadians want to think....

I have a question for ppl in Europe who like American Football...
Do you think the name itself "Football" has held the sport back? Like if it was called Gridiron, would that help it's popularity?
Or is it that is seems complex?
Or coastly?
???
