I love this song. When Richard sung his last part, David set in but i missed the power of that guitar that takes me away when I hear it on the Division Bell Album hear. The guitar come up too soft and powerless. It's a great performance but lack of guitar power.
YOU ARE MY GOD! i will from now change my religion from hindialaJimmieism to HindialaDavidGilmourism, This is magic, shaping.. i have been sucking the life out of 5ep of Pink Floyd, i just love the dark side of the moon, and that "woaap woaawawooee.." shine on you crazy diamonds, that is just making love to a guitar in all kinds of meanings, since music is my life and your what i'm looking up to from now on, you gotta be my religion aight?.
am i corrent in thinking that david choosed not to be pulling a too big of a role towards him by simmerin down with any solos ? as if it suposed to be richard's moment after being back in topform again ?
This was the second time I started crying after listening to Floyd. The first time was when I heard Echoes. Then comes Rick's singing! Oh how could I forget the sax and guitar too?! How soulful does their music get? I am so sad that Rick passed away. It's now a world without one of the most talented genius' ever! R.I.P Richard:(
I rather prefer the studio version, 'cos i was very eager to listen to this tune someday, since it is my personal favorite of The Divison Bell, and when i did, i missed the female backing vocals, which gives this song a particular haunting feeling.
there are some pour quality versions of this song on some p.u.l.s.e tour bootlegs, so i was delighted when i saw this true diamond of a tune among the special features on this DVD.. it's so nice to have it documented live.. and a wonderful rendition too.
This performance opened up my eyes to this song. Always liked it, but after seeing this version on the DVD, it became one of my favourites.
Particularly love the ending sax&guitar solo, the chemistry between the two instruments played by Dave and Dick Parry reminds me of the 'musical dialogues' between Dave & Rick in "Echoes" for example.
@flojdtube To me this is one of those songs that really has to be listened to more than once to appreciate fully. Rick was an unsung hero of PF as far as I am concerned. When Rick passed David said he wasn't sure if they would ever tour again as Ricks part in the band was so integral (not his exact words).
@GilmourTrueHD You are right. As far as I can remember I think he also said that he never felt that chemistry with any other person. They united musically at a very high level.
In the same interview he seemed astounded by how close they where as friends and as musicians as well.
@GilmourTrueHD I hope they don't tour again...Might sound strange but they probably wouldn't tour again if it was Gilmour or Waters that had passed so they should just stick to their own projects. I love Pink Floyd but it wouldn't be the same without Rick.
GilmourTrueHD, is 5 6, white and could dunk easily. Wtf you mean white men can't dunk? It's simply about the training people do to get their own leg strength to be strong enough to dunk. However for me, I personally used the training workout over at 50inch vertical[dot]com

Why do the backing singers (except Gilmour) find it necessary to join in? Leave it to the master!

Mine too. It's the one I play most frequently on the guitar. The guitar and sax music complement each other perfectly (and I normally hate the sax!).
