04/12/11: Sen. Rand Paul Rips Collective at Energy and Natural Resources Committee Hearing

I can't wait for the next couple of elections where we can throw another whole bunch of incumbents out of office. Till those fucks on Capitol get a clue they are supposed to be doing the will of the people and not their own will against the interests of the people, we must continue to fire as many of them up for reelection as possible, till they get a clue. Rand Paul types are a keeper.

Rand Paul has misplaced his point. The purpose of the Government is not to limit choice, but to make the choice safer....and give people the ability to go after companies for compensation when the products they make or the choices that make harm people. In Anthem, choice is stifled by the Collective and there are no choices. Because people were decided to be incapable of making a choice and therefore one was made for them...like the entire party republic is doing against women now.

The Government does not care about the individual. Not at all. This Energy and Natural Resources Committee does not care if the incandescent light bulb is cheaper for the individual consumer , less hazardous to the individual consumer, or the prefered choice of the individual consumer - all they care about is the successful progress of their self-serving agenda. It's infuriating.

They also use their position to accommodate their corporate sponsors who manufacture a more expensive, more hazardous, and less pleasant lightbulb than their competitors.

Those twirly bulbs make my eyes hurt. When I consider the fluoride in the water and the TSA scanners I can't help but wonder if the "legal" bulbs are harming me in some way . . .

@KevinHarlan They don't have to. They just have to ban them from being sold. You will keep your right, and have no lightbulbs. I have stocked up, need to go get some more to last our house at least a few years.
