  • The guitarist did a very good job on this song.Wonderful solo playing,I prefer it a lot to Angus' playing...JLT is good as always.Of course he can't be Johnson, but this is not even his style. He's more into classic rock/metal,listen to his own stuff,e.g."All Alone".There you can hear him singing, being himself, and he's one of the best and coolest singers in the music scene.

  • joe lynn turner can not sing like this

  • Jackyl has played this and several other AC/DC songs live but only when Brian Johnson comes out to sing with us. Its a blast when he does. Not sure who this version is but its not me. There is a youtube video of brian and I singing this song in Fl. Happy New Year

  • @JACKYLvideo Here's the lineup on this track:

    VOCALS-JOE LYNN TURNER

    GUITAR (LEAD AND RHYHM)-PHIL COLLEN

    BASS-JEFF PILSON

    DRUMS-SIMON WRIGHT

As already mentioned this is from a tribute to AC/DC titled Thunderbolt that came out in 1997 on DeRock Records (originally licensed in 1996 by Triage Records).

  • Joe Lynn Turner performs this for the Thunderbolt AC//DC tribute CD.

I OWN a copy of this CD, IT IS the same track

    THIS CD: allmusic.com/album/thunderbolt-a-tribute-to-ac-dc-r346758

  • Jackyl did this live so idk ....but who cares its still epic to rock out 2

  • jesse dupree

  • Never heard it before but no way is it Joe Lynn Turner. Not a snowballs chance in hell.

  • @kyla2112

Buy the Tunderbolt a tribute to AC-DC CD and read the credits.

BTW, in Norse mythology Hell is cold.

  • I thought it may have been Phil Collen (Def Leppard) but could be wrong

  • :D

  • Yngwie could never play with that kind of feeling.

  • @skwiddjergensen Im not a Yngwie fan.. But he can play with feeling. He just doesnt do it all the time and seems to enjoy technique more. But I have heard him play with a groove and some bluesy stuff with feel. So humbly I disagree.

  • @RandyJM21 I agree with you. I get called out as a troll. I have 30 years experience as a guitar player both professional and amateur. While Yngwie isn't my piece of cake, I do agree he has talent. I've purchased his concerto suite for guitar and orchestra in E-flat. I enjoy watching this video and copping a FEW licks. I also enjoy listening to Vivaldi's four seasons for a few apreggios on the bow string.

  • @skwiddjergensen thats interesting I suspect your saying Yngwie is a Vivaldi Fan as well. A Vivaldi piece that was written for a cello and 2 violins was the first classical that turned me on 30 yrs ago. I heard it in my head as wicked guitar shred and after no real exposure to classical I got it right away. Although I dont know much about classical I still listen to Vivaldi. I think its a good technique to get into classical by transposing it to guitar in your head at 1st

  • I have seen Jackyl do this tribute live in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. (Anybody else?) And this is NOT Bon, it's NOT Joe Lynn Turner, it's NOT Yngwie Malmsteen, it is most definitely Jesse James Dupree, and he did this quite well!

  • This isn't either Jackyl or Yngwie Malmsteen or Bon Scot (some actually thinks that -.-') Its verified being made by Joe Lynn Turner, though neither Jackyl, Yngwie or Bon are/was (RIP Bon) bad artist AT ALL!

  • @GoblinWizardry Bon Scott*

  • this aint Jackyl!!

  • How the hell could you get this confused with Yhgwie?

  • Thanks, at least you had the decency to change the title of the video when it was pointed out you made a mistake. Also, I fucking love this cover.

  • This is the very last of the straight uo in ur face heavy metal bands. Thanks Jackyl! I can understand your lyrics Jessie. Love that guitar.

  • I have "Thunderbolt" and agree.

Yes, JJD and JLT both do a credible Bon Scott, but their voices are distinct in their own way. The "Whiskey & Broken Glass" class of hard rock vocalists (If that really is JJD below, Hello!) often get compared to Bon Scott, another favorite is Georg Dolivo (Rhino Bucket) and I'm deeply disappointed that he (along with JJD) didn't do a track on "Thunderbolt"

JJD (w/Jackyl) covering "Have a Drink on Me" or "What Do You Do For Money" Honey" would be AWESOME

  • It's not Jackyl either, it's Joe Lynn Turner

  • That is one cool picture of the guitarist!

  • Una curiosità... Ma chi è che canta? u.u

  • so is this jackyl? it sounds like them

  • I agree.

  • Its absolutely NOT Jackyl and its NOT me! JJD

  • @JACKYLvideo Jesse, it's simply amazing how many people insist it's you even when YOU say it isn't.

But I'm sure everyone would like to hear you record a version of this song.

    Suggesting the obvious:

Have you considered doing a cover of "Have a Drink On Me" to advertise your (presumably) fine bourbon?

I say "presumably" because I can't get it here in pennsylvania.

  • @AllanDeGroot YES to this. Have a Drink is a fucking great track & epitomises what AC/DC & all proper rock bands are all about.

Mr Jackyl Sir, if you're still reading all this shite, get it done my son!

And make sure I fucking get a copy.

Incidentally (and totally irrelevantly) I come from the almighty Brian Johnson's home town, and my mate Skimmer reckons he used to mow the great man's lawn for pocket money when he was a kid & Brian still lived there. Anyway... nice cover this.

  • This is Joe Lynn Turner and Phil collen. I have the CD Thunderbolt: A Tribute To AC/DC right in front of me and this song is from that Album. It's not Bon Scott, it's not Jackyl and it's not Ratt. Mystery solved.

  • @booplay24

Agreed. I have the CD. It's Joe Lynn Turner and Phil Collen of Def Leppard on Guitar.

  • This is definitely Jackyl. The drummer has said it was them, and this is what Jesse sounds like when he does AC/DC.

  • I agree because Jesse sounds kind of like this when he did a cover of AC/DC's Live wire off of Jackyl's Stayin' Alive album

  • I thought I told you to go Fuck your filthy Mother son!?! Don't listen too well do you boy?

  • this is the singer from a band called rose tattoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • This is Joe Lynn Turner you retard.....

  • @Alhambrattp Your fucking retarded! This isn't JLT!!!

  • @godofslumber

Learn to read: Back in Black (cover) by Joe Lynn Turner/Phil Collen - Thunderbolt tribute to AC/DC album. Look it up.

  • Alhambrattp 1st. of all, go fuck your Mother, and 2nd, This sounds nothing, and I mean not 1 fucking bit like J.L.T. Not even a hint of his voice in there...

  • @godofslumber

First off don't act like a spoiled bitch. Ask joe about his voice you fuckhead. Look it up, I gave you the album and who was on it.

  • @Alhambrattp You still here punk? I thought you were told to go Fuck your filthy Mother!?!? Don't listen too good do ya boy?!

  • @godofslumber

Poor owned little bitch. As I said learn to read and look it up you pathetic fag

  • @Alhambrattp Second this. Track tags from the CD say: "Joe Lynn Turner, Phil Collen, Jeff Pilson". And seriously. Anyone who is familiar with Joe Lynn Turner's voice has to admit it sounds like him. Compare with some of the Hughes-Turner stuff where he sings in his higher vocal range and you can't miss it.

  • @ManInDarkAlley

Agreed bro that other dude doesn't know anything about music.

  • Phill Collen too

  • this dude should have filled in after bon.. don't get me wrong, Brian was very good, but this guy fits their music far better. IN MY OPINION. I feel that Brian's best work was done on their latest album "Black Ice"

  • @GCSeeg09 Lol! Yeah, okay-

  • this isn't yngwie or jackyl, it's joe lynn turner and some other guys from an ac/dc tribute album

  • @GuitarManFTW WRONG!!!

  • I think Jesse Dupree would be a better refund for bonn scott than brian johnson

  • Malmsteen is playing the Guitar!!!

  • tooo bad!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I determined electronically (exact audio fingerprinting is smarter than humans) that this is the version as covered by Phil Collen from Def Leppard, and it's on the album "TNT: Most Explosive Tribute to AC/DC." Look it up yourself. A few websites have samples of the track on the album.

  • @fashnek

Phil Collen is the guitarist, Joe Lynn Turner the Vocalist.

The track is also on the "Thunderbolt: Tribute to Ac/Dc".

  • THIS IS NOT JACKYL

  • @JACKYLvideo Well, straight from the horse's mouth... Guess I'm going to have to delete this off my computer then.

  • It's definately not Jackyl....If you know Jesse Dupree's voice, you can hear that it's not him. Jesse goes WAY higher than Brian Johnson. This guy is struggling to hit the highs. Not sure who it is, the voice sounds familiar, but be assured that it's not Jackyl. They may cover it, but this version is not them.

  • I saw this live. They played this song then did Livewire in honor of Bon Scott.

  • @chrisandjoyford ......sorry " chrisandjoyford" you may have seen all kinds of things....but I'm telling you this IS NOT jackyl. They may have covered this song when you saw them, I will agree with that part, But THIS link, is not Jackyl or Jesse Dupree in any way. Go listen to a jackyl song, listen to jesse's voice and you'll agree. It may be similer, to an everyday person's ear, but if you really listen, you will clearly see a huge difference.

  • I know the boys from Jackyl and yes this is them. Live and loud band from Kennesaw Georgia. They also covered Livewire. Livewire is on the Stayin' Alive cd.

  • Its not jackyl. Its Joe Lynn Turner, Phil Collen from Def Leppard on guitar, and Simon Wright on drums.

  • Stupid gay motherfuckers it is Yngwie Malmsteen, He's playing the guitar!

  • This is Ratt !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is not Jackyl!!

  • guitar work is lynch....

  • Everyone's wrong, it's Joe Lynn Turner. I Forget the backup band but it's on 2AC/DC tribute albums. I believe an One is called techno goes metal, I forget the other one.

  • This is not Jackyl. Well, it's definitely not Jesse James Dupree. I don't think so. It sounds like him a little, but it sounds alot different at the same time. He's missing that southern boy drawl.

  • @pillionaire07 this is jackyl dude listen to this and then jackyl lead singer is the same

  • JACKYL.....FROM SOUTH CAROLINA

  • @raiderrrsss

    From Georgia...Kennesaw actually....

  • @raiderrrsss

It's not Jackyl, it's Joe Lynn Turner

  • @raiderrrsss South Carolina.....The greatest

  • That's good it's not Yngwie bcus I thought it was the worst solos I've ever heard him do, the end riffs & main solo is horrible. Now that explains it I've heard this a few years ago & didn't think the playing did the song justice.

  • The play style sounds abit like Malmsteen. However I can't asy who this is preforming. never heard Jackyl shred like they do at beginning, and the singer is abit of. Close but for me it sounds like someone else.

  • The song is spread in p2p networks with a credit to Yngwie Malmsteen, which is simply wrong.

  • @DemonBird

you should go back to school and learn your AC/DC. Bon Scott died in Feb 1980 after their 8th album "Highway to Hell" and Brian Johnson joined the Band. (Bon wasn't 'replaced') Back in Black was'nt their debut album! And it's quite obvious that the vocalist on this track is not Bon.

  • @86MonteCSS

sorry for the one year of searching, but it is not Jackyl (but thank you for making me curious, I like their music...)

  • Sorry guys, but what are you talkin' about??

This is song 3 of Disk 2 from the album "High Voltage Box: The Ultimate AC/DC Tribute".

It is Joe Lynn Turner with Phil Collen. You find the song in iTunes for download as well as the whole album.

I agree it's one of the best covers of a AC/DC Song that I have ever heard.

  • yeah this guy's right, check iTunes

  • Ive gotta say i know its not ACDC. Why ne body would think that?, idk. After 1 year of searching ive found out who it really is. Its not Bon Scott although he did write lyrics for Hell's Bells before passing away. Its not Joe Lynn Turner from Deep Purple or even Yngwie Malmsteen, Its a band who now retired goes by the name of Jackyl. Ieventually found it at best buy!!

  • no it's really not, check itunes

  • this isn't yngwie malmsteen. cant u guys tell its angus young ? this is the original version of back in black with vocalist Bon Scott, who then got replaced by brian johnson way back when they were touring their debut album.

  • hahahahahahahahahaha, you obviously kno fuck all, they'd just released their 6th album and had finished touring it, that tone is far too metal for angus nd it sounds nothin like bon scott

  • @DemonBird wow your really stupid...... kill yourself

  • yeah thats not yngwie. im not sure who it is though. sounds like jake e lee

  • @ydidntIthinkofthat well where I downloaded it said it was Yngwie and I did look it up as well but I could be wrong so sorry for any confusion ^.^;

  • @neanngis323 where did u download it from?

  • @neanngis323 THIS IS NOT JACKYL!

  • THAT VOKAL IS JOE LYNN TURNER -- OKEY ????

  • @BruceDiokinson

yes it's joe lynn turner. He did this song on a tribute album.

  • @Alhambrattp hi..whats the name of the tribute album?? gotta have it

  • @Alhambrattp No it's not. No fucking way-

  • @Alhambrattp

    You are absolutely correct.

It IS Joe Lynn Turner it's on the "Thunderbolt tribute to AC/DC" CD,

    I have a copy here.

  • @AllanDeGroot

Thanks. Hopefully the others learn how to do some easy research and also actually listen to some AC/DC and Ywngie's music so they know what they are talking about in the future.

  • @AllanDeGroot Jackyl does a version as well & this is it. If You listen to Joe's Rainbow material he sounds nothing like this song. Listen to some Jackyl its like night & day

  • @BruceDiokinson Nope-

  • @ydidntIthinkofthat its ratt
