  • Holy foke that painting is amazing! Really, great job man. I gave my ukulele a psychedelic paint job myself. Why not, eh? :)

  • Fender does make a replica Rocky

  • im surprised fender hasnt sold this guitar as a replica.

  • @ganjaking187 I know right!! It would be awesome.

  • That aint a vintage 60's Strat'. there is a few miner mistakes. but great job on it! :)

  • nice job

  • lol... it's like guitar porn.

  • Is this a squier? the headstock is to fat to be a fender, even an older fender

  • somebody needs to make like a how to on all these custom paint jobs man i love this guitar

  • where did you get the strat hardshell case

  • did you use a painting guide or anything...

  • Can i play you to do my strat?

  • Awesome Nice Wrok

  • OH GOD IT'S SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! Nice job man! What kind of paint did you use by the way? My best guess is acrillic.

  • if its a replica, why do you say you painted it?

  • @idkitzmeh Because he made the replica. All replica's of something have to be made by somebody. He just happened to make it himself.

  • @idkitzmeh it's a replica and he did the painting. How hard it is to understand?

  • Its so ugly lol

  • grrrrreat job. can you do my strat too?

  • I thought you were gonna play it. What a deception.

  • they actually made a replica of the rocky guitar awhile ago.

  • I'm horrible at painting. Fender should do a George Harrison Rocky replica model. I'll buy it. Without a doubt, I'll buy 3 of 'em for the hell of it.

  • @legumes12 Oh sure, me too U.U

  • truly a work of art

  • Great job!

  • You sanded it then painted it?

  • I want one!!!!!!!! oh btw nice backround music great choice

  • I WANT IT!!! lol.

  • is that the strat George played in the I am the Walrus video?Or, should i saw, a replica

  • HOW ABOUT JUST PLAYINGT IT NITWITTER

  • I'd prefer "The Fool" any day

  • beautiful guitar, really authentic too

  • GO CAT GO!

  • trippy guitar...

  • nice job! did you sand that first?

  • Looks pretty bad. Lol, exactly like the original! It looked 100% better in the fuzzy Magical Mystery Tour booklet. I loved it, until I saw it more clearly. Then I thought 'ew!'. Lol. Yours is perfect.

  • The Rocky you see in the MMT booklet was painted differently to this .This is how Rocky looked over a year after MMT Nobody makes a Repro. Rocky like it was during MMT

  • Yes, you are quite right! Good eye, but it was quite similar, George just added a bit of color eliminating (I think) one of the yellow or green lines by thickening the red or magenta one. Basically it was just as sloppy though. I'd thought that both it and Paul's Rick were more artfully painted, like Cream's guitars. In closer, clearer pics they looked sloppy and messy, especially the Rickenbacker bass, which I don't think there are any Really good clear pics of if Rick wanted to 're-issue' it.

  • There are many differences.First of all the lines you mention a yellow line is missing, then Rockys head did not exist, then there was no wording on it.The simple pics and words inside the circles were not there. The small blue blob patern originally were painted differently and more. Its a problem trying to find good pics of the early Rocky.

  • Yes, all you say is quite true, but few of those differences would be very apparent in the blurry MMT pics. I thought it would look Much slicker and professionally done, like a Peter Max poster or something, but the farther away you are, the cooler it looks. Claptons SG, for example, really looks like a masterpiece.

  • I hope one day to find someone who will make an original looking Rocky for my MMT museum that i am bulding in aid of children with cancer.

  • It wouldn't be too hard, all you need is a good Strat copy, or Squier with rosewood fingerboard and the correct small headstock. You'd need good pics too, but the painting could be easily done using an opaque projector to get everything just right. I built guitars for years, and paint them. I'm doing Yellow Submarine ones at the moment.

  • There are many differences to how Rocky looked during MMT and all the Repro Rockys,a huge one being no face or head and the extra yellow line. There are a number other changes. Its just very difficult to get ahold of good pics of the older version . In case you wonder how I know, well I took part in the making of MMT down in West Malling in Setember 1967.

  • Really? What a crappy film! LOL. I find it so stupid and boring in parts, and yet the 'I Am The Walrus' bit was so great! When I was a kid I loved looking at the album booklet, which was big, LP sized in the States. I was so disappointed when I finally saw the film, except for the song parts. I think you could edit it to about a 15 minute film that would be just great. You're only a year older than I, what did you do in the film?

  • I was one of the children seen in the film doing the tug of war, the marathon , and in the closing of the film in the hanger. If you look at MMT as a film yes its boring and sensless ,but if you look at it as a string of music videos all over sudden its different. Some of the Music videos today are way worse

  • Exactly, all the music parts are great, just take out the stupid parts. We'll leave you tugging the rope in though. That was wonderful!

  • Sweet guitar...

now let's hear you play it.

  • what paint did you use for it?

  • shouldnt you have played a george song?

  • @alt1962 why? this was the first song that George used Rocky in.

  • @alt1962 All You Need Is Love was recorded on Rocky

  • I have one of these. Guy in TEXAS painted it for me.. awesome job

  • I want one!

  • fantastic

  • I made one for my band 'the beatlemaniacs' nice job you've done.

  • thats commitment

  • Nice!

Did you paint over an existing finish or sand it down?

  • good , job! i doubt that anyone here knows how much pain goes into making one of these...but we do!

  • what kind of paint did u use acrillics??? oils?? i need 2 know im gonna go make 1 now :)

  • I used acrillics paints and after that I clearcoated the guitar with Dupont Chromaclear 7500.

  • u should paint a monterey one

  • Dude, you spent almost a minute opening the case! Jeezz

  • Anyways, Wicked job! How much for one?

  • fucking -awesome-, man. great job, really.

  • you can actually buy these at a guitar shop.
