No it doesn't. That what tunes like 'Birdland' are for.
How bout we play a scream trumpet version of Beethoven's 9th symphony! I know so little about music and so little respect for it, I'm only gonna comment that it 'sounds good loud and in your face'
It does sound good. But seriously, way to butchar a jazz ballad.
Listen here you ignorant, ignorant person... Don't know anything about music? I'm going to be majoring in music and I happen to have great respects for music mind you. If you even used part of your brain I was referring to Summertime, not Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Of course that should not be all loud and in your face. You just need to learn to filter what you say before it comes spewing out of that so called mouth of yours.
Is someone jealous that have no range? awe poor little "save the jazz ballad!" Dude shut up...I mean really. Maybe if you'd stop humpin the bell of your horn long enough you could learn to appreciate different interpretations of music and good range. Loser
What a great song! I played lead soprano for Star of Indiana when we performed this back in '88. You young guys sure have some chops....thanks for posting.
I had a great time. That show was definitely demanding and high endurance. Especially the "Fugue" and "Finale"...which were my favorite parts of the show. At the end of the Finale I thought my lips were going to flap out the other end of my horn after blasting C's and E's at the end for over 20 measures, without breathing and running as fast as I could go. What a rush! LOL!
is there a video of you and your old high school playing on youtube? o_O
particularly one with some screaming trumpets haha

Way to kill a jazz ballad.
Screaming is cool and all, but really?
Lets take a jazz ballad and turn it into a screamer tune?
Ehhh Everyone needs to click on the flugel horn in the related videos to see how it should be

Of course. He must have no range to not like this rendition of a classic tune. Clearly you've found him out.
