@Sorcerer258 it really depends on what you wanna do, i would suggest making a pally and try ret, and if you don't like it go prot because it' WAY better in pvp at lower levels, and maybe even higher levels, it also depends how good you are playing the class. Either way, go pally for sure!

Ret = str increase for each attack stacking to i believe 25% until 30 sec have elapsed. prot = damage reduction. holy = the next five direct heals will be duplicated and all party and raid members within 10 yards (might be wrong) are healed for 10% of the healing done to the original target.

I havent played this since a little bit after lich king came out, but i gotta say my ret pally back then did sick damage. I would out dps rouges and mages doing dungeons all the time. I was using mostly PVP gear but still did sick damage. I had full mercilless gladiators back when that was the shit. I'm sure shit has changed alot since then though..

Inqwi.. and so on.... and whenever you get a proc use them in this order of importance... hammer.. exorsicm.. and use templars when you only have 3 hp.. use inqui when you have 10 or less seconds

actually I managed to get my retribution paladin to a steady 14.5k-15k selfbuffed on raiddummies. after I changed my gems around and started to stack strength. the buff is great ofcourse. this will help ret palas alot during fights that interupt my rotation several times during the encounter. but with cds self buffed I reached 20k and ive seen other ret palas beat me with that as well saw a dude floating around 22k with cds and a steady 16k. I dont belive retri palas are as bad as people say

Theory as theory goes, I believe that the Eye for an Eye talent is not as good of a DPS talent as Selfless Healer as the dmg buff can be used when other damage buffs are on cooldown. Also taking into consideration that it makes a decent heal bomb to take a small load off the healer. With the Word of Glory bug fix it'll be better, too. Just my thoughts, I haven't run hard numbers on it but I use the talent.

In your description about the old Divine Purpose (or as it still is currently) you said it occasionally generates 3 holy powers. It doesn't really, just makes up for a 40% chance on pretty much all your retri dps abilities (except Consecration) to add an extra holy power (1).

Can't wait for the changes.

Though our old hand of light from mastery had a basic of 8% to proc with no mastery, and actually procing alright. Now with 15% and the new mastery, I'd imagine a nerf already.
