FDR basically pissed on the constitution and we are taught in history class that he was a great president. "Education" today is used to hinder critical thinking and encourage conformity.
No, trumpsahead you are a dumbass cocksucker and a spineless commie apologist, anyone who calls the u.s. government stupid is simply acknowledging the truth and is intelligent enough to realize it, unlike yourself a cumfed sheeple cadre, the american government is known all over the world for being the most retarded and the worst of human rights violators. If you yourself can't see or understand that reality then i question your intelligence. Faggot!
i think some people have a tendency to misunderstand what common good means. it has been proven through history that when money is backed by gold and there are large amounts of gold in individuals hands in comparison to the national treasury. not only does it devalue currency but it will devalue gold. some things are more important than one mans individual wealth.
@mitchell6811 I agree with your "common good" analysis. Mr. Campbell was smart enough to hold his legally earned wealth in gold and it's ok for greedy little men to want to confiscate his hard-earned wealth. I bought gold ounces when it was in the hundreds, so I thank the "common-good, money-printers" who helped double my investment.
The Real is That none of this gold belonged to any Amercan's instead it was property of Native American's and Mexican's because it came from stolen tribal land's... So I agree with FDR because by taking this prized asset he was able to improve all American's life's not just the robber baron's and elitist!!!
frank the fraud should have been physically removed from the white house and publically hung for his crimes. one of the most evil dictators in the history of the human race. i think the gates of hell opened up go turn loose stalin, mao, hitler, and fdr on the world to destroy it. too bad the cripple who crippled america didn't die much sooner than he did.

Scumbag communist murderer, Roosevelt was. I'm beginning to see things as they really are and that there hasn't been an America for over a Century, we are America in name only. Everything the United States supposedly stands for is nonexistant. We need to mocking our great ancestors and admit the truth and except the harsh reality and if we are going to remain property of the state, we need to stop singing our nation anthem until we can remedy this delema we find ourselves today; if ever.
This video title is a flat out lie as well as the description of the video. FDR did not steal the gold, the government did force people to turn in their gold, but they DID pay people what the gold was worth.
@MrKnnknn First of all, your assertion is mathematically incorrect, a year later, it became legal to buy gold again, but at nearly double the price, of course.
Second, there is no such thing as a fair price unless the buyer and seller come to a voluntary agreement. The threat of fines/prison/violence took away the voluntary element. It's like If I put a gun to a woman's head and demand her diamond ring. Then, before I leave, I give her $10. I have set the price and used force in doing so.
@machaeroguy Actually thats nonsense. If someone only demands $500 an oz for their gold when the market offers at best $200, they aren't being fair. Ever see what Charter charges for their service? Would you call that fair? Just because two parties transact doesn't mean one isn't doing so begrudgingly. In the libertarian worldview, no one exploits each other.
@LambChowder1 "If someone demands $500 an oz for their gold when the market offers at best $200, they aren't being fair." I didn't say anything about the 'seller' being fair, I said something about the 'price' being fair. The potential buyer will say "hey, I can get the same gold oz for $200 elsewhere." Obviously, the potential buyer does not agree $500 is a fair price, and the transaction will not occur unless the gold holder lowers his price. That's what I meant.
...Likewise, I would just say don't use Charter, but what we have is far from a libertarian marketplace, so it's much more complicated than that. The bankers have long been influencing legislators to pass laws that give banksters special privileges that others don't get, i.e. fractional reserve banking.
Interesting that only 25% of the people turned in their gold. No one was jailed for this. 75% of the people hoarded their gold. This executive order was not enforced. They would not confiscate gold today because of all the foreign held US dollars. If I held US dollars overseas and the US government tried to confiscate gold from its citizens, that would be a sign to get out of the US dollar. It would have the opposite affect.
@sithjedi71 FDR's administration didn't wish to arrest gold holders, I believe that would have been terrible public relations because many American citizens owned gold coins and gold certificates. I also don't like the term "hoarding". No one calls Warren Buffet a "stock hoarder", or Bill Gross a "bond hoarder". Confiscating someones gold the way FDR did is the utmost violation of private property. And the threat of arresting law-abiding gold owners was equally disgusting.
@supplanter111 The dollar may not be backed by gold, BUT...all major economies hold gold in reserve? True we are on a fiat currency system, but gold IS held as collateral and those countries would not want to own US dollars if the system were in crisis or collapse.
This proves beyond any doubt whatsoever that any person who calls our U.S. Govt "stupid" is himself stupid and arrogant with false sense of intelligence.
Let there be no mistake about it, the U.S. Govt is controlled by Criminals of the highest order for the benefit of Criminals and control of American citizens.
Thanks again for confirmation and spreading the word.
@MrHarry46 ORGANIC HEIRLOOM SEEDS ARE THEY WAY TO BE RICHER THAN ALL THE GOLD ON EARTH! GOLD CAN NEVER NOURISH YOU OR KEEP YOUR FAMILY FROM STARVING, ORGANIC SEEDS WILL EVERY YEAR IF PROPERLY DONE! BUT WHILE WE ARE FREE, ITS YOUR DECISION. ;)
@MrWakethesheeple question....in theory, if the usa started minting gold coins as legal tender couldn't foreign investors/ governments buy up huge amounts of newly minted american gold coins.....then all the gold would leave the country? Wouldn't that negate the reason for issueing them? Or is this just not possible?
Whats funny is that the bankers tell us that gold and silver are not important because the fiat currency is working fine, but the ultra wealthy are secretly hoarding massive amounts of gold and silver in vaults all over the planet. They are not hoarding currency.
Lets not forget to thank LBJ for taking us off the silver standard too. Some day we will have the same sort of inflation Germany had in the1920s. Wheelbarrows will be needed to haul around enough worthless dollars to maybe buy a loaf of bread.
Very good upload. Lesson to be learned NEVER trust the government or banks.
2009 scenario. *Obama declares national emergency all commodities & guns are to be turned in.* People everywhere stop...HA HA HA! People go out & buy more gold/silver, start wearing jewelry in public view.Banks go under paper currency is abolished Gun & ammunition sales go up 300%, people start growing their own food private companies release new energy source, govn't is held accountable for crimes against humanity
this was different, FDR did that because the people who orchestrated the collapse of the great depression put all there funds into gold. not to mention gold does nothing for the economy, people buy it, then they horde it, good for the individual bad for the economy. I'm a republican, but even I think that what he did was a good idea this video fails to explain all the details of the situation.
"The drive against gold hoarders is being watched closely by legal and financial observers. ***Altho not regarded as important from an economic standpoint in view of the government's present huge gold holdings***, a court test of the government's power to prosecute hoarders might be an important indication of the courts' attitude toward other "new deal" legislation." Nice work , in my opinion a real history lesson you won't learn in public school, collage,60 minutes,PBS,your local or national news, your local paper, public radio, ect. But what an important lesson to teach and remember especially in today's political enviroment. I guess the old saying "Question authority" is more important then ever just as it was back then except to few did or do now. Our founding fathers surely would be disgusted with the creeping loss of our rights and freedoms!

Don't forget in the late 1930's the US intelligences broke the Japanese code which they knew everything before Pearl Harder hit.
