I have to say these "creature features" likes this and Mega Piranha are a guilty pleasure of mine but I don't get how the graphics can be this fake. Gareth Edwards made 'Monsters' on a £15,000 budget and with off the shelf CGI programmes and the FX in 'Monsters' are outstanding. If these films had better CGI they would certainly be a lot better

@GoughyBCFC - all part of the charm, but yeah - look at Dragon Wars from Korea, way better CGI than the blockbusters with bigger budgets.

Thing is, it's pretty easy to learn how to use software packages to make CGI with - but they make the courses expensive (or in the case of any I was on - they just don't teach it right), so then the fees paid to make the stuff are outrageous as well.
