You should use planks instead of logs as fuel to conserve wood, or sticks are even better.

JX you need to kill lots of endermen and get their ender pearls. Then you can make eyes of ender from the pearls and some stuff found in the nether. These eyes of ender can be used by right-clicking and show you where the stronghold is. You also use them to complete the portal to the End, where you can fight the ender dragon.

So: kill lots of endermen, go to the nether and kill the new mobs.
