I think your referring to income tax. You do have to pay a lot of various direct and indirect taxes.

Now the liability clause of the IRS tax code, refers to "taxable income" which applies to capitol gains and corporate income. This does not applied to wages of labor however. At least in the context of a constitutional definition of "labor". This language should be clarified or the 16th amendment outright repealed. I think that is what you were getting at?
