Ray put the band together and taught those guys about the blues, country all of it...he had already had regional hits down Mobile AL. way before his accident and moving to Jersey
I saw them do this in Houston...1973 or '74....hard to remember. lol They were great. Quite a mixed crowd, though. Stevie Wonder was the other act. It was a trip.
dr hook are icons of the 70's and all you haters DUANE.. have never and will never have the love and adoration that these fellas have known. if you want perfect pitch, go jack off to a mariah carey cd.
I believe if you took any of them away you wouldn't have Dr. Hook. Each brought their own indivuality to the group. The guy with the patch had his own distinct sound that helped make Dr. Hook what they were and it wouldn't have been the same without him.
Apparently, Ray Sawyer is a very nice guy. I don't deny this. But he cannot sing, the songs Dennis Locorriere sang lead on without embarrassing himself. A friend of mine saw him perform a few years ago and he said that the people in the audience were laughing at Ray throughout the event, but he sadly added, they were not laughing with Ray, they were laughing at him.
@DuaneMThomas This is the worst bullshit I ever had heard Ray Sawyer cannot sing Ray sang Wonderful Soupstone Turn on the wourld, Millianary, Marie Lebow Levantie, The Ballad of Walk right in, You make my pants and many more most of the songs they sang together, Dennis had a great voice yes but that did Ray too read the last review from Rays concert in Glasgow last year the parer din,t miss Dennis at all!!
@DuaneMThomas This song Roland the roadie they did sang together with Billy Francis do you mean that just the only Dennis could sing this song?? I can,t understand why people like you can write this bullshit. Ray Sawyer has toured as Dr.Hook feat Ray Sawyer since 1988 with a great sucses all over the wourld. Booked for venues same place over and over again and Dennis fans are very jalous on him. I have also booked Ray for a great sold out concert everyone there had a real nice time.
what album was this from?i grew up with this stuff but i dont know the name of this album i have the other one.with u make my pants wanna get up and dance..
@chebaalhuda the album is called "Belly Up". i think it's their first, before "Sloppy Seconds". I have both on vinyl, but it's great to see these live versions after all these years
when "Ray Sawyer of Dr.hook..." and the group played the Windy Mesa in Page AZ. they spent 3 days out at our ranch in Paria, Ut. That was one strange weekend, but I won't tell!
@hollyberries100, I don't mean to rain on your parade, but Dr Hook without Dennis Locorriere doing lead vocals is like seeing the Stones without Jagger present. Sorry
Hey Casletrigrav or perhaps I should name you Dennis are still jaylos on Ray pity to see your comentators. Please let me not hear from you anymore!!! You are a scum!!
Lucky for our Soldiers you are able to say such rubberish but anyhow you are entitled to your opinion. As for the drummer Cayce he is a good person and so is Ray. and yes Dennis is doing good.
I haven't heard this song for YEARS!!! Love these guys!!!

Ray lost his voice 10 years ago. He's also saddled with your boyfriend on drums.
The downward spiral continues.
At least, Dennis is doing well.

A thought Shel Silverstien wrote most of the songs.

Shell did write most of it. ALL of the first album and most of the second album, in fact.
