  • Ugh. The Norton Symantec anti-virus suite SLOWED DOWN MY PC SO MUCH that I finally got rid of it. That program made my disk drives sound like coffee grinders running overtime. My computer would take 20 minutes to boot, and ignore mundane task requests like opening e-mails or browswers. Good riddance. I'll run Windows Security Suite from now on.

  • i got 30 days because i had to wait so ling on the phone with a problem i was having

  • I used symantec products in the past a lot. We had several issues because some viruses can pass without being stopped by the AV SOlutions. And we notice the power hungry concept of Symantec applications. We don't use Symantec anymore. We use free AVG or free AVAST.

  • u dick head symantec is a fag they deleted my video for no reason?!?!?!?! and it was a spyware doctor serial thing

  • Awesome, they gave you 365 days of free bullshit, so you won't have to pay for that bullshit for a while now. Congratulations!

  • Norton antivirus has been rated with the lowest overall protection against viruses, and bots. Norton has no protection against any type of crypted virus and the truth is almost 50% of viruses are crypted. I used to work at best buy and every day i would get a complaint from a client saying that norton didnt protect there computer from a virus, and there computer has crashed. I highly recommend using trusted real antivirus software like nod32.

  • You're an idiot.

  • lol i could've done the same thing for you man

  • Actually Norton has been sued ... class action law suits for riping off people.. they try to scam you by offering you a free extra subcription instead of giving you your money back.

  • i have the same problem with norton it supost to fix any virus that gos into my pc and now says that my pc its on risk please if anyone knows how to fix that leet me know thanks.

  • @jbvs1786

actually, no antivirus in the world can protect against all viruses that are out there. You should try contacting norton instead of posting youtube comments.

  • So let me get this straight.....

Symantec doesn't do anything (admittedly partly due to your own neurosis) until you very publicly bitch in a public forum such as Youtube.

Then, they give you something for free that didn't actually cost them anything.

And you find this to be a good thing?

That's pathetic. Just like the effectiveness of Norton Internet Security.

  • @cbiltcliffe

as he said.... he never called.

IF he had called and asked norton for help... they would have done that for him.

as for the "effectiveness" of NIS as you bitched about in your last post, compare it to any other AV program out there. It's the best over the long haul by far. Best detection rate, with the lowest false positive rate. best performance, and so on.

  • @lordhathor Your so fucking stupid its not even funny nod32 has the highest detection rate your spewing crap out of your mouth. Like i said there is something called a crypter that enables viruses to bypass antiviruses norton has the lowest detection rate for crypted viruses. You will learn your lesson when your computer crashes and all of your credit card info is stolen like the last idiots who got norton.

  • @XinvalidnameX whoa, somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Actually, in independant testing, Norton has a better detection rate than NOD32 across the board. If there is something NOD32 beats norton on, norton is by a very small margin and still highly effective and is by no means a crap program. I don't think you have any idea who the "last idiots who got norton" are. you're talking out your ass. don't get so worked up over antivirus programs.

  • @wtfnord You obviously have no idea what your talking about like i said before any antivirus can pick up an uncrypted virus but you dont know what that is. What do you think the purpose of a crypter is? Of course to bypass antivirus and cloak malware. but many crypters re designed to bypass norton antivirus in specific. In fact just last week i infected someone with my RAT(Remote Administrative trojan) and guess what kind of antivirus he had? symantec endpoint protection!

  • @XinvalidnameX I have no idea what I'm talking about?

I work for another software security company.

I assume by "uncrypted" you mean "unENCRYPTED" and there is one simple response to that. Firstly, no AV can pick up an encrypted virus without the key. Secondly, the files would be scanned as they are loaded into memory. Since an encypted file cannot be run, it would have to be decypted before it could be a threat. Norton and symantec are also very different in terms of heuristics.

  • @wtfnord Every time i get a FUD stub for my crypter it is 100% undetectable I use many different crypters but over time your stub will become unFUD making it detectable again most crypters are detected first by nod32 or kaspersky. The last antiviruses

  • @XinvalidnameX Without going into the technology in great detail, that is what SONAR and BASH heuristics are for. Also, insight in Norton will block that straight away. If it's a brand new variant, and even if it isn't detectable from SONAR, it will be called out by insight protection and the user would have to accept some scary prompts before the file would launch.

  • @wtfnord Thats retarded that would only work if the crypter was just scantime fud if it were runtime FUD, sonar wouldnt pick it up.Actually have you ever heard of the zlob trojan? there are viruses like that out there where you can simply go to a website and it would run a silent drive-by, therefore it would run itself without having to go through all those prompts from norton.

  • @wtfnord I know this because i had norton 360 full protection, and i got infected with a zlob and it took full control and deleted norton so i had to spend an hour deleting registry keys to take it off.

  • @wtfnord my stub is usually picked up by are norton and komodo. The point in the end is that all antiviruses are just compromises and not full protection but norton has the lowest detection rate for crypted malware. Im not talking about right when the viruses is encrypted but overtime after it becomes unFUD norton is very commonly the last to pick it up.

  • @wtfnord WOW LMFAO now your searching through my entire channel looking at all my comments just so you could troll me because im making you look like an idiot. This is hilarious.

  • @XinvalidnameX I posted on one other post you made where you were trying to sound like an internet tough guy when you're clearly a frustrated 15 year old child in your mother's basement who doesn't know a damn thing about the topics he's discussing. Enjoy your block, and enjoy responding to yourself.

  • @wtfnord Thanks for giving me the chance to make you look like an idiot and emberass you. Lol thanks for blocking me it just shows that you dont like getting verbally raped. I win you lose end of story. Thanks.

  • @wtfnord I love infecting people with my rat and than watching them run a full system scan with norton and it never even detects my RAT LMAO! Infact norton is completely vulnerable to viruses cloaked with triple des, rc4, and rc5 encryption. You will learn your lesson pretty soon buddy dont worry your the idiot who actually downloaded norton thinking your safe. This proves everything you said is wrong thank you for giving me the chance to make you look like an idiot ; )

  • Symantecs rules in making mediocre security products

  • I agree, Nrton sucks

  • woo 365 days woo lol

  • well i installed norton and im a gamer ...

well nexed thing i saw was a load of lag and my games crashed -_-

  • they have a new product called norton gaming edition, uses hardly any resources

  • @macman851

true; in fact, all the 2009/2010 norton programs use 10 mb of memory or less at any given time. they overhauled the whole thing, and re-wrote it from scratch.

  • I bought Norton's Security Pac for 2008 and I did not like its effect on my Vista computer; it seemed like a virus. I have found no way to actually contact the comp, but a Byzantine sequence of runarounds at their web site. I thought I wud try just the Anti-virus, but found no way to limit it to just A-v. I downloaded the A-V from their website; now it acts like a virus popping up & demanding money I have already paid. Bummer

  • All i can say is that symantec is the worst company i have ever dealt with, i have been trying to get a $50 dollar rebate and they sent me an email telling me that i had to buy a laptop or pc accessory in order for me to qulify to get the money, which the rebate receipt said nothing about that. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. FUCK SYMANTEC.

  • norton shit

  • NSB(norton sucks balls)ROFL

  • Stupid idiot. Symantec's support is one of the worst in the world. The only ones who really give user friendly and QUICK support are those of Kaspersky Lab

  • Samantec's support was crap... But now it is great! - Yes... They may keep you on hold for a moment or 2 but what company doesnt! And it if free! AND QUICK!

  • Symantec's security thing that asks u if u want connections allowed from a certain thing SUCKS ASS

it froze my comp and now i cant access some things :(

  • avast home edition free and will make ur pc faster the minute you uninstall norton >.>

  • LOSAH!!!!

    how dumb are u !!!

  • ah men they are all big sons of bitches fuck all o f them big assholes

  • NORTON IS GREAT!!!!! They are giving me free security for 5 years because I noticed a flaw when installing the add on pack!

  • You can get plenty of other free antivirus software which you can have FOREVER and are better than that shit.

  • I like norton... END OF! - All in one security, back-up, etc... 5/5!

  • But if you actually knew about malware. Youd realise it isent actually doing anything exceptsaying "You are pretected" in over statement bolds.

  • I do know about malware.

I also know that 752 infected files were completely missed by Norton Internet Security on a recent machine that I fixed.

Free antivirus caught the vast majority of them.

  • @cbiltcliffe

I just love stories like these.

ok, a free nameless antivirus caught "752 infected files" (likely all the same virus, or a dropper) - but how many do you think norton catches that the free ones don't? millions...

  • @lordhathor norton has a 13.2% detection rat for crypted viruses.

  • wake up man, its time! symantec didnt help u because they care, they helped and gave a free of charge year of symantec products because ur video on the web could have jeopardised the name of the company. so, by accepting their help and free stuff, u have helped them them to get their goal

  • Your completely correct, thats what they do now, they dont even care anyway.

  • who is better than norton symantec.....i cant understand asian indian women that talk fast and low and run all their words together in tech speak?????????????????????????????????????? is macafee better is computer associates better?

  • man enough to test that anti virus? get the virus called spylock and norton will sux bad when detecting it and removing it... soo u man enough to test ur crapy norton.. then get ur self Torjan hunter and privx csi and reg vac then see for ur self.. oh i know no anti software is perfect but norton is far from just ok

  • Norton is noo good sorry. i infect my pc not b/c im dumb but b/c i want to see if the anti virus works and norton doesnt:|.. sorry and its really bad it sometimes can make ur system run really slow... best answer is get ur self Trojan Hunter uses very low pc recourses and it starts to do really good when a virus is detected and when a virus has infected u:|.. norton cant do either.. and if u dont believe me back up ur system and infect it see if ur man enough to see for ur self

  • Sorry to say but Norton sucks it's detection rates are bad. I tested Norton antivirus it too me 30 minutes to just install and I infected my computer with malware and only found 1 the freeware did better and found all of them no lie

  • lol i went to london olympia to the bett show

then i went to stand k14 i think it was synamtex then i asked the lady how can i make my own aniati virus like norton and she sed it was complicated.she sed why and i sed i dnt have a anti virus system and i got norton 360 for free

    Haha u got scammed

and ialso i got f secure for free

(she told me not to tell no1 else)

  • Yes sir, NORTON does ROCK!!

  • Yea thats a great gesture, but are you still protected? Companies do this all the time to keep your business which in my mine is great business. The draw back is that you still have Norton. I personally cant stand Norton for odd reasons throughout the years using them, but as long as the end user like you is happy they just won the battle.

  • Hi,

Do you have a link to your earlier video? I would like to see it...the one where you vented!

    Thanks

  • Oh and about the 365 days.

Can't add 366 days in the tool we're using wich is called LC-Cost. haha

  • Nice to see that "we" fixed your problem :)

I resign from symantec support next friday, wohoo! If you want i can add a couple of years to your sub :P I don't need the full product key for it, just the serial number. Pm me your email adress and i'll see if i can find your "mynortonaccount" :-) (i'm acually from the swedish symantec support lol)

  • nice to see people care...

  • nice!

    I use norton too..

Nice company.. Nice step from symantec
