a beta is an early version where testers make sure it is bug free and test the features.

an alpha comes before a beta and is more geared towards getting the thing to work than adding features.

I work in a school where the Physics teacher actually uses Algodoo for a load of stuff, and the kids do learn *A LOT* from what I can see. But we have no interactive board, they all use a regular PC and mouse.

In the other hand I study education in a university where we have an interactive board, but no one uses it for anything. In a place where we are supposed to THINK about education.

It's a damn waste.

You can draw any object, and then make it transparent and point a light beam at it, and it will have optical properties. Some basic lenses are included in the distribution, but it is easy to make your own using the CSG tool.

You can also set the index of refraction to change the optical properties. Light beams can also be used to cut objects along the beam!
