you're right. We didn't bring food and were surviving off of the land. We ate the entire thing after cooking it over a fire and saved the skin as a memento from experience.
southwestern arkansas. highly recommend it. we didn't see a single person or sign of a person the entire time we were in the forrest. totally pristine. headed to yosemite for round 2 this May. Have a feeling we'll see a few more people out there, but I've heard the scenery makes it worth it.
I'm from Dallas. Me and my buddies are going to Ouachita Forest for two nights in mid october. We'd be in Cedar Lake, Oklahoma. This is a really really cool video.
Rofl, that was pretty interesting! (Yep, Bear kicks your butts, but still! Pretty cool.) I've been camping and hiking before, but always survived on fires, quick pancake-things, hotdogs, and marshmellow. ^.^ =p And camping only lasted for a few days at a time. I want to try surviving on the wilderness itself sometime soon. After I get a good camera.
Thanks. Definitely no shortage of copperheads on this planet. Brought an extra battery in case I ran short, but actually never had to use it. Only shot 90 minutes worth of content. We didn't cheat by staying in a hotel, but we did by carrying a gps, phone, dryer sheets, and back-up beef jerkey in case we got hungry. Definitely a watered down version of Man vs Wild, but lots of fun nonetheless.
There are lots of snakes, deer, turkeys, opossoms, raccoons. That is just the stuff you can see. Really easy to get lost, and I live here.
