I'll never forget it. 1988 TMEA Texas All-State Choir back in High School. I was in awe of the talented teens; boys and girls who I had the privilege to be a part of. At one point the guys had a 4 part song in German, when a high note was sung by the 1st Tenors I distinctly remember hearing a voice of which I was haunted by.  I was a baritone, and the song was nice enough but I never heard someone ever sing like that before. Later that day I found out it was David Phelps. Incredible.

David's first cadence here is simply marvelous!!!

he is singing tenor high A's (nothing for him) for like the entire first half, then a beautiful Bb at the "on" in "his cross stamped pardon on my very soul", followed by those 3 beautiful high C#'s!!!

dunno why he didnt sing the C# that he made himself famous for, the one that should have been at 2:41... he kinda did a country thing where stayed under the note and then hooked into it at the end.

either way, still a SUBLIME performance!

Marsh was kinda unexpected, cause he was pretty much very lil time. But he is know leading worship in a church.

David always is doing what he does best! Have you been to one of his concerts? Have you listened to his new CD "The Voice?" Have you seen his Christmas DVD "O Holy Night?" Both are David at his best! And, he's great helping out the GVB, too.
