  • But coming across people like you gives me hope! :D Keep at it. I'm also aware of the thought police, including the positive thought police, i.e. negative thoughts are not allowed type attitude, especially if they're frequent. That's bollocks. You can be pretty positive while entertaining a rich plethora of negative thoughts like yourself- criticisms of society etc. To me you're really positive. People who think they're positive can be very negative etc.

  • I agree with you Slaxxxer. I don't think the human race is shifting anywhere near enough to get out of the mess it's in before it's too late, and indeed it may be way too late already.

  • I'm not saying that animal's lives are worthless but In the big picture they're just as much a resource to humanity as a whole as metal or electricity and until the use of meat is completely outmoded that's not going to change.

  • @mashersmasher My comments were an analogy and not a comment on animal welfare or animal rights!

  • Humanity has a chance to go somewhere, to use our technology to do more amazing things then you or I can conceive of and eventually we as a species will. Maybe some amazing change will happen to society in an instant and maybe it will take another millennium but you only need to look at how the world was 20 years ago to see that this so called "shit hole" of a planet has some redeeming factors after all.

  • We're in confusing times alright, Slaxxxer -- I, too, feel broken. Society in the UK has become a greedy, self-obsessed monster. I think this has been done using social engineering. The churches have been attacked for the purpose of removing the values they once taught and division tactics -- political correctness and the feminist movement to name a few -- have been deliberately put in place to break down this once great country. Evil forces are at work -- Zionism could be it's name.

  • @jamesstasiak It's been going on for about 15 years or so. Whether social engineered or just a collusion of circumstances I'm not sure. A divide and conquer approach would break down the collective masses of civility. An artificial sense of entitlement and the ensuing financial entrapment breeds selfishness. The corporate divisiveness has trickled down to common behaviour. Media and advertising are all geared to reinforce the 'me' of which pseudo authoritarianism and degradation abounds.

  • Great post, we are who we are ...

  • War against stupidity. I used to be positive and passionate about too much then I increasingly found others imposing problems until completely disillusioned and pessimistic. Lies, manipulation and degradation was present in so many regulars. I was compelled to detach. I understand it now as mass narcissism. The world is full of it. A constructive although cynical mind is back now but many people I have no time for. I can see the selfish cog on the side of their heads. They can fuck off :-)

  • The big challenge as I see it is how we conduct ourselves in the midst of all this. Just because the world is fucked doesn't mean I have to be.... you have your little girl, whom I'm sure you love more than anything. Bring joy to that little girl and raise her to think of others before she thinks of herself (the old lady) and you will have "endured to the end". Be as cunning as a serpent but gentle as a dove. Pain in the ass isn't it? It is for me, but it's the only way I'll keep from going mad.

  • "and because lawlessness will abound the love of many will grow cold, but he who endures to the end will be saved". The love of some has grown so cold that they will kindly wait for the old lady to fall then take her purse. The biggest mistake we have made is adopting the mentality of tolerance. Tolerance inevitably leads to lawlessness. We live in a world where an alarming and growing number of people have no love for anyone but themselves and have no respect for the law....continued>>

  • everything you eat has lived, apart from salt and maybe water,we are animated bags of seawater running around the land, obeying the eat or be eaten rule, causing system conflicts in our complicated heads, I would say the video is optimistic because your insanity failsafe is kicking in and you are still able to laugh now and then at your own thoughts.

  • You're not pessimistic - you're honest.

The world is filled with people whe believe the world exists only for how it can serve humans - and because they think this way they are blind to the abuse done in their name.

  • Humans are a host for billions of bacteria .....and a form of complicated virus on planet earth all else is folly

  • I'm afraid I can't relate to deep pessimism. There are a lot of dark, ugly things going on in the world, but for the most part I still feel regular flashes of the vivid excitement, wonder and euphoria I felt in childhood, before I got exposed to the 'dark side' of planet earth and it's inhabitants. Just doing what you're doing now, taking a solitary stroll through some deserted woodland, would make me feel happy enough inside to feel grateful for life and remember it's dazzling beauty.

  • Well i think the first step in being good is recognizing how evil one can be.

i have done things that i abhor now, i am 55. I had (still have) a vicious tong.

I know myself enough to know that i am lucky not to be born a a child of a callous dictator.

So, that i have not done worse than my worst is more luck then an achievement

    Do i now loath myself?

No! I know now that that is part of being human, the point is i can now choose, and know why i make that choice and that makes me truly to who i am

  • Or maybe its that they who live down in south London and I know what you mean I stayed down there for 18 months in Thornton heath working at mayday that just don't wanna change they don't care, they just don't care! It's the duel of life which makes the whole.

  • Around 6mins you said that u had! Been like that and you Had! Done this and youd been known as a lier. It seems you are making every effort to change that, if you can why can't the others? Are you better than them ? Great thought as always.

  • @okNusku Very fair question and point - far to complicated to respond in a character text response - thanks for that reality check! ;-0)

  • Comment removed

  • It made sense - and I applaud your honest self-assessment as you speak of a world that seems to be going to hell , as you try to understand your own part in it !

But not to worry - haven't you heard , that pessimism is the NEW optimism ?

  • @rolynstone48 Cheers buddy - I appreciate that! ;-0)
