@casiblake Yeah, i love aE but some of their stuff is hard work. Have you had a chance to listen to Move Of Ten yet? Supposedly Oversteps was meant to be a double album but they released it as two seperate instead. Not sure if thats true. Rew(1) is fantastic.

As far as Flying Lotus goes i loved 1984 and Los Angeles but the new one is a bit wank. Do you make your own stuff? I'm messing about with Reason 3 at the minute and i mix hip hop on turn tables.

well, I actually recognice the character of this sound. It´s done, most liklely, with macromedia SoundEdit 16 audio editor and processing software for mac os 9.

(and yes, using tools like timestretch, variable pitchshift, some cuts&paste, delay, reverb etc.)

soundedit was released in 1988 and available for mac os 1,2,...9. so ok. mac os "classic".

i can very well hear the different sound character of synths from buchla, arp, yamaha, roland, doepfer etc. and the same goes for some software.

i´m 99% sure that this was done in soundEdit.
