Hey Hun This is Great! I Have a 3 year old boy, I want to Include Him in What i love! His dad and are are not together, But i am Married now to a wonderful man, But My Son's dad's family and alot of mine and My Husbands family are so Against what i love, But i would love to raise my son pagan so bad, How would i go about this , In this situation?
How did you explain to your parents that you are pagan? i know in one video you said you were a catholic when you were little. How did they react? Or have you not told them?
I started Paganism and practicing the Craft when I was about eight years old. But I think now that it was because my mama did it. When I got older I realized that I didn't want to do this just to make her happy, I wanted to do it 'cause it made everything clear, and it made everything suddenly just make sense. I love Paganism and I thank my mama for bringing it to me, even if she didn't mean it. :) Love you, Ma <3
I like the Fact you mentioned The Lion King (One of my favs!) I've always felt the Lion king held a beautiful story about life, death, love, and learning. BUT a christian friend of mine was ranting on how evil, sick, and how NOT OK for kids it was... I was pretty blown away. Honestly, I feel as a pagan that we are raised to TRULY not judge.. while other religions... not so much.
sounds fantastic. it is amazing how much more children will teach you about your belief than you can ever teach them .
i think it is good to include them as much as they want to be , you dont drag them into ritual the way kids unwillingly get dressed up and taken to church . i grew up catholic but we stopped going to church when i was six and i remember being sooo happy lol. i think i was ALWAYS pagan. my husband and i look forward to having kids one day & learning from them .
"Their eyes were just like *OH YAY!!!!*" that made me laugh lol :)
Like any other religion, I think you should raise you kids to have knowledge about your own personal religion, but you should never force them into anything
@Crimsonrose.. Just do as you do. Be yourself, love and enjoy your belief, live it and follow it. When your kids and your hubby ask questions, then you can tell them by just answering, bit by bit they will learn more of their own choice. If they don't want to know, they will stop asking questions. That let's them decide what they want themselves. BB
all of us as kids are pagan. even if we are born in a christian family, we are raised pagan! the easter bunny? santa clause? halloween? all pagan rituals and beliefs supported by christian parents. but then there are those parents that dont, we still at very young ages have pagan beliefs. we personify the sun and the moon in preschool drawings. pagan is in our blood.
This makes me sad... I'm not allowed to express my own religion... Its like I'm a forced to be this Christian. I want to be pagan but I'm forced to be Christian so I guess I'm a secret pagan...
I love how your kids are so eager, i want mine (when i have them) to be as well, but if they choose a different path, so be it, i will still love them the same =) im very poen minded, and would want my children to be happy with what the well :D
I was raised RomanCatholic went to private school raised my child so and behind closed doors in my broom closet practice such of my pagan faith my mom was a very open woman a marine ad well I cold talk to her about anything and everything she also believed in pagan religion always able to hold her own in discussions but never pushed her beliefs as I never did I'm more open now to be open about being pagan My daughter came to me and came out of the broom closet afraid but not really she was ex
My son is two and my husband is agnostic, I'd really like to be able to share my beliefs with my son but have a hard time thinking of what to do without excluding my husband, when do you think is the right time to aproach your kids about your beliefs and how would you go about it
I believe that everyone should have a choice in there path. We have raised our daughter exactly that she has been to rituals and to church. However she seems to follow the path most of her family follow which is pagan based. FYI Flora your children are great. :)
Although I've always been Pagan my whole life (wishing on stars and being aware of the energy that streaked behind me as I moved), I've officially been in the Craft for over a decade and recently went through a low time due to unhealthy people that drained me. I've been watching you more frequently and wanted to say that you've helped me regain my spiritual strength. Thank you so much. You're an amazing person. -Jeph
I've been in the Craft for over a decade, but have been Pagan all my life (talking to the moon, wishing on stars, being aware of the energy that streaked behind me as I moved). I stumbled upon your videos a while back and found you interesting. Just recently, I hit a low spot in my life due to unhealthy people who drained me spiritually and emotionally. I've been watching more of you lately and I wanted to say you've helped me find my spiritual strength again. You are an amazing person -Jeph
Thank you for posting this. I would be really interested to know HOW you explained it to them... When you told them about the God and Goddess, how far in-depth did you go? etc.
I love your video. I just had my first baby in December and have been trying to figure out how I was goingto explain the craft and everything that goes with it to her. But on the plus side I found a book a while back that is full of child friendly story about the sabbets and creation storys. I just love it but I really wanted to say thank you for the video
you children are deriving a sense of purpose and centerism by your influence. I am a mormon christian. We have the pentacle in our temples. I have been looking into this more and observing that this form of spirituality can be especially empowering to women. And can help us get 'unstuck' from violation and abuse. To 'let go' and move on. Our ancestors must have needed these skills. I am devouring all your videos and learning more about the art of prayer.
i think ur doing a wonderful job with your kids! it's nice to share your beliefs and several other beliefs with children and then have them choose which ever they would like to follow. so long as they follow some sort of deity, because all gods and goddesses are just part of the same divination or big picture.
PT1I have had my niece in a few rituals she was 8 or 9 at the time.I used to be someone who prothlytised ... I am over that now thank the Gods.I got hurt by that and got the law of return on that to me a few times. I thought I would have learned the 1st time because it was so heart wrenching but I didn't.I drew Justice on that day and I knew I didn't like that card LOL! Anyhow I have invloved my Cousin as well and Niece and my Mom. Mom is very supportive and she believes some of the things I do.
PT2 I don't force it anymore although I do like to share with most everyone. My niece loves my jewlery and she wants a Pentacle necklace but I don't really want to get it for her because I want it to mean something more than a pretty thing. Maybe I should just give it to her and all will follow???I think I will just explain it and then ask her if she still wants it and then I will give it to her.Anyhow this is what I have in regards to all of this.I do not to force things anymore though. BB
that was really cool! Thats really cute about how envoloved your boys are in rituals and even the grocery store part! Sounds like my little brother when I started telling him about this. I hope my son is the smae way that would be cool. Blessed Be!
I think it's great that you include your children. I've heard of pagans who exclude their children from rituals and all of that stuff because they don't wont to force it on their children. But there is a difference between forcing and allowing. I think if you include your children and someday they say "Mom, I don't want to do this." then you can allow them to worship as they see fit. However, if you exclude them it will set you apart from them and basically make them feel excluded. IMO.
interesting video, i have a five year old son, and i don't really encourage or discorage religion at all, i let him ask me any question and answer, ive answered questions relating the catholic religion, since his grandparents are catholics, and my own. i see as i will let him choose what path he wants, i take him to see different things so in the end he will make his own choice, and not a choice made by him growing up in an enviroment that he just thought was right. no offence
i think you should do more videos on pagan parenting and how you went about it, i dont have any kids of own yet but it intrigues me. my boyfriend has a 4 year old, which may someday become my step daughter and im not sure what to do about her, i dont not hide my faith from her, shes still too young to really understand it but she love looking at my witchy stuff, i dont want her to end up telling her mom or someone and then there be issues with my bf and his ex. I would love to share it..thx
Great responses! I think it's so awesome that they are dragging you around to do rituals and shop for witchey stuff. That's so cool; they're cool kids!
Parker, having autism, seems rather ambivalent about religion, in general. When he's older and more recovered, I will bring it up with him again.
Autumn, on the other hand, seems very intrigued. Of course, she's only 4, so we shall see. Like you, I'm going to expose them to paganism...and they're also exposed to Christianity from their grandparents. Soooo...it will truly be their choice.
How old were your kids when you explained paganism to them and how did you explain the god and goddess? Jade loves to participate but we haven't told her about the god and goddess yet..waiting til I know just how.
hahaha, I hope my kids are like that when I have them. I have been having a hard time trying to figure out what I should do. Should I include them? Should I not? I don't want them to feel pressured but I don't want them to not understand. ahh!
great response! i really hope that when i have kids, they'll follow the pagan path so that we can all be one big happy pagan family! haha. But of course, if they feel differently i'd be more than willing to hear them out. your boys are so cute and it's so great how excited and enthusiastic they are about your path.
That "oh my gosh" moment where a person realizes their spiritual path has been discovered, that never happened to me in Church, no one I know ever had it happen in Christianity. However, stranger things have happened so I will allow my children to experiance what they want once they reach an age where they can understand the choice. I'm thinking around age 13. If they want to leave our circle & join the local church, its their choice. I just hope that they are happy and don't try to convert me.
You are on a roll today with your videos!! Love it! I love vlogs about being pagan & raising children. Any kind of ideas or advice is helpful to me since I would love to raise my own children wiccan, until they can decide for themselves at least. :)
Btw, your boys are adorable in any of the vlogs I've seen them in! They always seem so cheery and chipper!
you have a beautiful family!! love and light to you all! blessed be

Very true about The Lion King. Another kids' movie that I love to watch that emphasizes the tie to nature is Fern Gulley. I love that movie SO much.
