Don't apologize for someone else's stupidity. Some people only care about what's going on within a 10 mile radius around them. They can't appreciate other genres and styles that shaped the world today. That would require broadening their horizons and expanding their knowledge and, well, very few seem to care about that these days. Which is why you have people like us who cherish the old days (and old ways) and wish we could've lived back then :)

Basically a lot of the photos from the 40's were actually hairstyles from the 50's, i have a book from the 1950's showing these very same photos, but also 1940's wartime hairstyles were a lot different and involved less curls than the 50's. by the 60's curls, waves had dissapeared into free flowing styles similar to what we have today. Nothing is more beautiful than waves and curls in hair, it shapes the face and brings out your features, something straight hair can never do.
