ahh the good old games like paperboy, pac-man, mario, punch out, and i forgot the mortorcycle game where you do a bunch of crazy stuff, better than todays game :) thumbs up if you think so
Most of the games for my C16 could be picked up for about £1 2nd hand at my local newsagent. Paperboy was my first 'Premium game!' and cost around £10 from WHSmith, a lot of money in those days considering the 16k limit, much smaller than games on mobiles now.
Yup, at least I always took these objects for tombstones. I don't now whether that is normal where the game designers used to live or whether they just had a 'morbid' sense of humour ;)
This was a really cool game - but on the harder levels with so much going on, it would kind of freak the c64 out and everything slowed down and started going invisible.
Great game. I only got as far as Friday once, cos the game is so difficult with endless obstacles to dodge. Music and graphics ain't bad, considering it's running on a Commodore 64. Good stuff.
nice memories come back with this. I love the music when you were actually playing, and sometimes it distracted me. Did you use an emulator or the C64? Could you turn it on without problems? heh. Mine is stored somewhere probably with a lot of dust, and games must be lost or wasted. I used the cassette loader, which is probably wasted too. Last times I tried wouldn't load any game....
For making AVIs/Youtubes an Emulator is fine. I use VICE, but other Emulators might also be nice.
Of course there is nothing like the real thing. If you want to free your C64 from dust, just check out the internet for forums. There are quite a lot very active ones, where I got lots of help. Spare parts and even complete systems are available at e-Gay&Co. So if you really wanna get more than nostalgic, what yer waiting for? ;)
This game was very difficult back then, i'll played this all through, took me couple of nights :)

I like the way all of the obstacles try to get you way before you get up to them. The music was cool at least...

The gravestones are supposed to be where all the previous paperboys have tried and failed... permanently so to speak.

So are those actually gravestones in the people's front gardens?
