The main difference between the both is that anime is more detailed and has a "unique" look, especially the characters. Also, anime is for a wide range of audiences. So no, it is NOT a cartoon.

This is indeed Bach's air in D major from his 3rd orchestral suite, and beautifully played. But it's not on the G string. The air on the G string is a 19th century arrangement of this air, in C major. Just sayin'.
