  • Always remember the respect, even when you don't get it back. God bless.

  • Nice channel, thanks for doing it.

  • It is trying to rationalize a religious opinion that has no basis in fact.

  • 'Doing it with gentleness and respect' is not the problem, - Having such a closed mind is the problem.

  • @Hufflewaffle Everyone is "closed-minded" in one way or another, even if you're right you're still closed-minded, truth is a closed-minded thing it's not open for discussion or opinions. Like for instance if I ask "what do you believe?" If it's anything that goes against anyone elses beliefs then you yourself would be labeled closed-minded. Now maybe you're talking about it in a different way, like christians being closed-minded & judgmental toward peoples looks, interests, etc. on that I agree.

  • @darkoblivion20 There is a vast difference between a person admitting a bias towards one idea about that which we can ultimately never know: the depth of unconscious, truth, love, beauty, mystery of being, of existence etc etc. and someone being shown a rock but blindly, obstinately denying that it exists - More than that, the lack of self examination, the denial of such things as confirmation bias, psychological projection, one's own emotional motives. This is closed mindedness at its worst.

  • @Hufflewaffle I agree with darkoblivion - it's not religious people who have the monopoly on having fixed views on things, we all have our world-view, ways we have been brought up etc...You simply cannot determine truth or untruth by speculation about the emotional condition of the person who holds the belief.

  • @The1hope4all Modern religion is a set of beliefs rigidly fixed in doctrine. While its true that you don't have to be religious to be closed minded, you do have to be closed minded to be religious.

  • @Hufflewaffle Being closed minded (whatever that really means) is a prerequisite to having a religious belief (whatever that really is)? Evidence, please...

  • @The1hope4all Evidence? Religious doctrine is defined as the teaching of a 'fixed' (ie. closed) system of 'belief' (ie. mindedness)

    Its what religion IS.

  • @Hufflewaffle Religious doctrine? Any kind of doctrine (including atheist doctrine) is "fixed" OK, let me ask you: Is the statement: "Every single person with a religious view will be closed minded" a scientific statement? Is it a statement that a scientist could put forward in a paper, with plenty of evidence to back it up? We'll need definition of "Religious Person" and "Closed Mindedness" first, before we can proceed.

  • @The1hope4all Ok, so we agree that religious beliefs are fixed (closed) and I assume you agree that belief is a state of mind? - Do you really need a scientist to validate this?

  • @Hufflewaffle My point was that ALL belief and ALL worldviews, whether religious, atheistic, political etc... have firmly defined "ideas". Your belief, for example, that "All religious people are closed-minded" is, of itself a "fixed belief" so yes, we certainly need evidence that "religious people" (You still have not offered any definition) are more "Closed-minded" (Also no definition yet) than anyone else. No evidence, no ball game.

  • @The1hope4all Yes religion is a set of firmly defined ideas. A MIND firmly adhered to its doctrines must be contained within a boundary CLOSING it to the outside. Once again, religion is closed minded by its very definition - not simply because I believe it to be so - (although I can certainly understand how someone who is stuck within its boundaries can't see past them)

  • @Hufflewaffle ALL worldviews and religions, whether religious, atheistic, political etc... consist of certain core values/ideas which are held to be true. Religion is by no means unique or special in this respect, and no more "closed" than any other type of worldview/belief. Your inability to concede this basic observation is indicating that you MAY be suffering from that particular form of closed-mindedness which atheists sometimes suffer with. Love and peace, over and out.

  • @The1hope4all You seem to have conveniently missed the part where I said "its true that you don't have to be religious to be closed minded" Are you even vaguely aware that we are basically in agreement? Its funny how even when you agree you still seem to want to argue. I'm betting you wont bother even examining why that is - you'll probably just carry on thinking you've won some kind of dispute with an evil 'atheist'

  • Why are so many atheists so rude? By no means do I mean all atheists or even the majority... maybe it's just a vocal minority? Still, excellent channel man.

  • great channel bro.. surprised i just found it..

  • Such an awesome channel. Finally a logical Christian youtube channel.

  • I found this thanks to Janet Parshall. Bless you brother.

  • Coolest channel ever.

  • Apologists' arguments don't work on New Atheists. We see through them. That's why we're New Atheists.

  • @ndrthrdr1 You mean you're too stupid to refute them.

    That's why you're New Atheists.

  • @CarlosMarti123 nope, bullshit arguments without any prove don't work on people who have a functional brain. and i am not an atheist, i'm anti-theist. meaning - i've seen the work of your religion through history, all the wars, genocides, condemning of innocent, mass massacres for personal gain masked as the doings in the name of non existent being, and i know it it the true evil and retardation of the human race.

  • @SkyDiverLynx You are an anti-theist? So you need a God to be against, right?

  • @The1hope4all i'm not anti-God, i'm anti-religion and anti-priests ^.^ i know all religions are a fraud and all people who claim to have divine knowledge or justice or way or any of that are liars, they tell things that are not true for their own benefit. i simply can not be anti-God, how can i be anti something which does not exist, this won't make much sense now would it? :)

  • @SkyDiverLynx Do you believe that if we managed to completely abolish any kind of religion, an era of universal happiness, peace, prosperity, tolerance and kindness would commence in the world, with no more wars, fighting, greed driven conflicts? And if you did, would this fall into the category of an irrational and deluded belief, for which there was no evidence?

  • @The1hope4all exactly, there is no evidence for that, but this question can be easily answered by just trying it,never in the history of human kind there was a time when people did not worship imaginary being, killed in his name or mutilated children's genitals in it's name, punish by death people who wore a different sexuality then they, enslaved other nations because they wore given a divine right to do so,yes,i can only imagine what a world would be, and i must say it does look's rather good :)

  • @SkyDiverLynx We are in the fortunate position of not having to imagine this. Can you think of a few nations that have been run on atheistic principles, and have made rigorous attempts to banish religion? There have been quite a few in the past, and there are still some now. Could you name a few, off the top of your head?

  • @The1hope4all yes i can indeed, USA, this country was founded on the believe that no church or any other religious organisation may intervene in the works of the government, i and i must say it did rater well. can you name me any country which was influenced by religion and did not engaged it self in children's genitals mutilation, genocide, enslavement, killing other religious organisation member, abuse of women, honor kill and rape, where people have a right to their own opinion?

  • @SkyDiverLynx You are talking about the separation of state and church, the USA (One Nation under God) is not an atheistic state, where the government has forbidden religion, and tried to wipe it out. Can you think of some nations that have had this agenda, either past or present?

  • @The1hope4all are you avoiding my question? i have no problem with God, and as i said before i'm not a atheist, i am anti-theist, anti-church, anti-priests, do i really have to repeat my self? nonexistent things can not hurt humanity, or any being for that matter. every nation or culture on this plane believed in some entity, but i was not the believe that was and still is the problem, it's the actions

  • @SkyDiverLynx that are caused by this believe. if you have the proposal on how to eliminate harmful actions of religion without eliminating a religion i am more then willing to listen, i am a big supporter of human right, and i believe that everyone is equal, no matter where they are born or who their parents are :)

  • @SkyDiverLynx Good, But you don't have to repeat yourself at all, as I am still interested in your thoughts about my original question: Can you think of any nations which have in the past, or do now, make a serious attempt to ban religion, from an atheistic standpoint? There have been quite a few, and still are some - name a few names, it isn't difficult. This is important, because you implied earlier that getting rid of religion would mean greatly improved living conditions.

  • @The1hope4all non of the nations ever made a serious attempt to ban religion, if you think of Nazi Germany - they wore Roman Catholics, Japan Emperor Hirohito was regarded as sun God, north Korean Kim Jong Il was regarded as God an his son as a reincarnation of him, in USSR christian religion worked on "don't ask don't tell" basis. there wore never the time when a county went by atheistic way. USA and Australia are the only two which tried to separate religion from state, and did real good :)

  • @SkyDiverLynx . I never said that Nazi Germany was an atheist state. North Korea is a Stalinist Dictatorship, with about 30 000 - 50 00 Christians in Concentration camps. USSR Christians were massacred by the truckload or put into psychiatric clinics. Of course the USSR was an atheist state, the whole Eastern Bloc was. The worst atrocities in the 20th century have been committed in the name of atheism. The USA and Australia separate Church and State, and that's OK.

  • @SkyDiverLynx (Continued..) The Wikipedia entry "State Atheism" is very helpful in this respect, and there is a lot of interesting stuff about this in the book "The Twilight of Atheism" by Alistair McGrath, which investigates the rise and decline of atheism from the French Revolution to the present day, definitely worth a read. If you've got a Kindle I could lend it to you for 14 days.

  • @The1hope4all on standard issue Nazi German stormtrooper's belt buckle was engraved "Gott Mit Uns" (God With Us) why? because they wore Roman Catholics. my cousin collects vintage stuff, and he got a few buckle's in his collection. I was born in USSR, my mother and my grandmother are a Russian Christian Orthodox and so is a dominating part of my relatives, some have other religions, and they practiced their religions without any problems and never been thrown in to jail for it.

  • @SkyDiverLynx Well, I'm very glad that your Mum and Grandma didn't suffer any difficulties, but I'm afraid several million people were murdered under Stalin, and yes, the atheism was the driving and motivating force for many of those murders. To come back to the original point, there simply is not a shred of evidence to think that the removal of religion would improve things in the world, and a great deal of evidence to support the opposite view.

  • @The1hope4all (Cont...) I agree with you that religion has very often gone wrong and had very bad effects, but that is by no means the whole story. It's fanatacism which is dangerous, whether religious, atheistic or political. Atheistic and political fanatacism has many more deaths on its conscience than religious, and would be just as dangerous, even if you got rid of religion. Many of the so-called "New Atheists" are fanatics, I'm afraid...

  • @The1hope4all (Cont...) And I wish you well, by the way! I once drove in an ex-army jeep from Dortmund, Germany, through Poland, Russia, White Russia, Siberia and on to Bayan Olgi in Western Mongloia. It was winter time, incredibly cold, we saw fantastic scenery, towns villages, and lots of great hospitality.

  • Apologize for being a fucking ted haggard look-alike....

  • i would sent the English sentences with the Spanish sentences which correspond

  • Coul i try to translate your videos into Spanish (sent the tranlation to you) and youi could upload them with Spanish subtitles?

  • @vardas0antras Why?

  • By "apologetics", I thought they felt meant that they should apologise for this religious crap.

  • @UrukEngineer Well, you were wrong then, weren't you!

  • Your absolutely right! The thing that is troubling to me however is the effort that you give to convert a Christian, when they don't seem to care.

  • Way to go!..All the best !
