It was definitely the first song. One of the most memorable scenes in the series. My top 3 (in no particular order are): Gohan's fight against Cell when he goes SSJ2 up until the point that he punches 18 out of him, Vegeta's fight and Sacrifice against Majin Buu, and Goku's first SSJ3 transformation and fight against Majin Buu. After that last one I stopped watching the series aside from Mystic Gohan and Vegito's fights against Buu.

We NEVER really saw exactly what level of intensity Goku put into his workouts, but you just KNOW that he did push himself equally or just as hard as Vegeta did to prepare for every battle. goku neva even killed nobody, except with a spirit bomb. frieza was completely killed by trunks, goku didnt even kill the ginyu force, he only left them unconscious vegeta did it, and through series he doesnt even completely kill, except buu with the spirit bomb but even the spirit bomb is a gathered energy from big places like earth, he is a saiyan who does not kill even evil violent doers. he is too pure hearted

Well Piccolo never got any important kills either (Raditz is more him AND Goku), despite combining with Kami (none at all after that happened IIRC). It doesn't matter that Vegeta's a Saiyan too, or even the prince of them all. It's because they're reformed villains.
