  • nobody has as much energy and charisma as Steve Perry!

  • Sexy Steve Perry, voice of a God

  • Steve Perry Yum

  • I saw journey many times in st.louis indoor and out door they were special then and still specail today I prefer the vocal talents of steve perry he is a frontman who can single handly carry a rock band. Journey is a Rock band,Mr. perry bringsa specail heart and soul to his performance.Jouney will never be same without him!!! Thank You

  • Their progress/change as a band (while still maintaining a clear identity) each year from 77 through 83 is so interesting. Amazing musicians. Steve Perry... what can you say... nothing short of amazing on so many levels.

  • SOOO MAGNIFICENT!!! Steve Perry is the best frontman ever!!

  • lol im just laughing at Steve's action and energy hahah love it!

  • i have it on Beta Video Tape LOL

  • Man,those JFK shows were ALL GREAT.I saw just about every single 1 of them from Yes/Peter Frampton to Live Aid to Pink Floyd to the last concert there in 1989,The Grateful Dead.If I remember correctly..wasn't John Cougar,Bryan Adams and Sammy Hagar on this bill with Journey?Journey was just sooo good that day.

  • @SouthJerseyGuy1 you got the bill right...and The Tubes...I was there...what a concert...

  • I am surprised that Neal is using the les paul without the floyd rose... this song has some nice tremolo bar on the album version...

  • I had an awesome time at the this show! Miss the 80's!... Can you name all the bands that performed at this show?

  • Awesome song. Great vid.

  • they were on fire and so energetic

  • Majestic performance done by the best....Steve Perry.....The most loved man in the world.

  • @Stevenewfan He seemed a bit spazzed out in this clip. It was the 80's, prob jacked on blow.

  • OMG, I can't believe I just stumbled on this. I was there too!!

Back again 2 years later for Live Aid. THAT was the hottest damned day of summer.

  • Fanbloodytastic - I wish I'd been there. You can feel the energy through the screen.

    Thanks for posting.

    Caroline :)

  • I was at this show too... 13 years old and finals the next day!! great show,, wish I still had the concert shirt,, not that it would fit!! ha!

  • I was at this show, I wish my memory were clearer because they were rocking.

  • I have it on Beta Tape

  • I still got the vid from this documentary and could copy it on a DVD if interested.

What a huge band this used to be, as far as crowds are concerned. Of course it is still a great band. Massive history but still current today. Saw them last week at Graspop Festival in Belgium. First time ever in Belgium I think.

  • get those kids off the ramp...here they come...

    lol

  • is that herbie herbert at 2.07?

  • It is.

  • @jrnyfan4life 1:56 steve hair starting to dip during this tour

  • @jornoasis Yes, that's HH

  • They are without a doubt the greatest rock band of there time.

  • I was there too. JFK, 90,000 fans. Bryan Adams, The Tubes, Sammy Hagar, John Cougar (his name then) and then Journey. Great fireworks at the end of the show too. I was 13 years old and it was the greatest day ever for a 13 year old.

  • You can get a copy of the audio from this JFK show. Its around. :)

  • where can i get this

  • Sadly it's no longer in production.

  • blah. maybe it will pop up on eBay once in a while. :-)

  • This documentary would've been far better if it hadn't been produced by NFL Films. Too much time was spent focusing upon nonsense such as Steve Perry growing (and then shaving off) his mustache... maybe exciting for a 12-yr-old fan but not for the average adult viewer. Also, the narrator who did commentaries for NFL Film's football-related documentaries has an annoying voice. On the plus side, the documentary does preserve classic Journey as they were back in the day.

  • STEVE SMITH makes all the difference here too! As great as DEAN is, SS blows doors, has more groove and soul then Dean ever will. Dean is a great metal drummer. 'nuff said

  • yep you said it. :-)

  • I wonder when this will be released on dvd? :-)

  • it was released on dvd, I bought my copy from Journey store a few years back

  • So it's exclusive? I'm not finding it on the net so far. :-P

  • It's no longer in production.

  • Steve Perry ought to be soooo flattered....don't you know IMITATION is the most SINCERE form of FLATTERY? YOU GO STEVE!!

  • i like dc on drums

  • I was there too -- great concert!! Love Steve Perry's voice. Perry MADE Journey!

  • I WAS THERE !!!!!!! Fantastic concert !

  • This video makes me feel like i am onstage with Steve and Neal . I get the feeling of the excitement of being there during the performance. Very cool. i love this

  • Steve Perry fans unite!! Lets let him know how much hes loved and missed. Go to petitiononlinecom and sign the Steve Perry Sing Again petition (enter /srperry1/petition.html in the address line). Let Steve know how many people are eager to hear his sweet voice again!!!!

  • you know they sound awesome some bands not all are great on record but suck live and i can say these guys can rock the house.

  • wow i was at this concert...right up at the stage..it was awesome

  • It shows you how little credit Perry get's at a frontman. One of the best all-time!

  • Whoah. What was Neil kicking at, a mosquito?

  • that is so funny had me laughing lol

  • Wish I could see this concert again. I was at this concert it was awesome.

  • I wish I was ALIVE back then to where I could have seen them live in concert at ANY time.

    *Sighs*

  • I know me too, that's why Steve must come back!

  • I was at this show..One of the best concerts I've ever seen!!!Glad you posted this..

  • I missed this concert, and to this day I regret it. JFK was jammed pack with 90,000 people.

  • If the excitement and energy of this performance doesn't get your heart racing and your blood pumping--then you must be dead. Steve Perry just explodes onstage!!
