@robelinda2 mate you are amazing, never saw a guy who got such a big collection of cricket videos and who bother to compile it and put it on youtube, good work mate love your channel
Is this the same batsman we see struggling to force the pace against the Aussies now?? Come on, at that time Australia had Warne, McGrath, Mark Waugh, Ponting, Damien Fleming but now none of those stars are there. Laxman's feet are moving well in 2012, in this innings he was very fluid
undoubtedly..this is one of the greatest knocks in test history..imagine scoring 100, that too in the second innings against Aus in down under, against bowling greats including McGrath, Warnie and co.. a true master class..
Look at those career stats right at the start - 17 tests, 0 hundreds, avg 23.44. He has ended up being one of the all-time greats for India. True class!
I see a lot of these videos man ,they put in the fours and sixes. You are the only guy to include other important parts of a highlights package, like Laxman getting hit on the head or a dropped catch. It gives a whole new meaning to this innings of his.
Yes uploader... this guy is very right.. its extremely important to capture key moments of the knock, apart from being hit on the head, waiting for the commentators reaction, celebration when he reached his 100 and most important of all the ovation he got.. Ian Chappel Bill Lawry and Richie are the best commentators.. Sick and tired of Shastri Sunny and Co
Laxman if you're reading this...you need to stop looking down the wicket every time you get bowled and hoping it's a no-ball....just accept that you got bowled and walk off like every other batsman would do. Show some class by walking ut fat ass off when you get out. All these Indians get annoyed at me when I mention it but the fact is it's true...he does it EVERY TIME...so f-ing annoying, he should have really got a warning about it by now
How many batsmen with an avg. of 23 today can you expect to turn around and play an innings like this. Or even walk into a match with an avg. of 28 and score a 281? That's how the general standard has gone down. So many young players today build their average on shirtfronts but suffer a meltdown the moment the heat is on. Lavish praise for the AUS team of those times too - the bowling attack to wreck any batsman, the batting line up to unsettle any bowler, a great keeper and sharp fielders ..
@DeepanjanDatta indians never understand the concept of a team game, they should stick to tennis...a individual game where u can blame the whole loss on one person...
Laxman is easily my favorite batsman. Yea yea...Lara, Tendulkar, yadayadayada. I honestly find him to be the most visually appealing batsman of the past 20 years and undeniably the greatest under pressure (ironic given that this one wasn't). This knock was apparently the preview for what the Aussies had coming in the '01 series. Thanks for posting Rob!
Laxmans innings in sydney in 2008 was just too good.It was the kind of innings he took the whole momentum in indias favour by taking on johnson and co.
I haven't seen anyone play the on drive like him.Only Tendulkar cam match him only as a pure talent in the Indian side.He hasn't been treated well by both the Indian team management and the public. His poor fitness and athletic skills didn't allow him to be a very good ODI player. But boy isn't he making up for the lost time having played some outstanding innings in the recent past.
Indian management treated him very shabbily. He had no one supporting him except for his talent. He is a treat to watch like Sachin,Mark Waugh, Lara and Gower
Rob-I've seen this innings many times but these highlights again gave me goosebumps....VVS always had that natural onside strokes but what's remarkable in this innings is his punishing/beautiful strokeplay in front of the wicket on the offside...some of cover drives and square drives of Lee(at over 150 kmph) are absolute treat.....and he's the only batsmen in my 25 yr watching who makes the pull the most beautiful stroke to behold....may be Gower at his best could match! Just lovely, succulent!
A Very Very Special innings uploaded by a very very special person. Thanks a lot !! Keep uploading them...

some sort of celestial design that Laxman & aishwarya share a birthday in their own way both represent flawless beauty!

All I gotta say is, Laxman at many times has played better than Tendulkar. And there is something so pure about his strokeplay.
