@Digital18Devil Actually nothing. If the xp60 was first, they wanted to make a 76 weigthed key version and if the xp-80 was first, they wanted to make a simpler, more compact version.
ARE YOU SELLING IT BECAUSE I HAVE ONE ...BUT THE PINK GLUE THAT HOLDS THE WEIGHT IN THE KEYS ARE COMING OFF SO SOMETIME THEY STICK ANY SUGGESTION ON HOW I CAN CLEAN IT
Spectacular demo you demonstrate here!! Years ago back in 1996 i remember the two: XP-80 and XP-50, i like it and the worse is....i never had one myself, i bought a crappy Roland E-500 in 1997 instead that you only can store and edit chorus, DSP effects on 128 sounds out of 270 it has in total. Well this is a arranger keyboard i bought that i'm not satisfied since day 2, didn't have a lot of money at the time and wish i had a sinthesizer with 16-track sequencer. I like your XP-80!!
Click my name to view COMMODORE 64 SAMPLES PACK: SFX SOUND EXPANDER IN 'C' (FM synth). If you click the link below it you are also taken to a special selection of SID sounds and effects taken from famous games and applications.
@chelok77XP-80, XP-60, XP-50 and XP-30 share the same engine (also modules JV-1080, JV-2080, JV-1010). All above mentioned synthesizers and modules are compatible.
XP-10 has completely different engine, based on cheap Sound Canvas modules, used in many low priced products.
If u have a whole song programmed in the xp how do u get a good mixdown? i cant figure out how to apply seperate EQ settings for each channel, everything sounds muddy cause i can not figure out how to eq each instrument without changing all the others (using stereo eq efx) is there another way???
go to the mode section : perform= band style: part = single instrument. Press PERFORM , press SEQUENCER. Move the cursor to part/track select a track and an intrument. . pres RECORD, play and press STOP. press PLAY and listen to it. Repeat with others instruments. You will hear previous material while recording other instrument. the UNDO is valid only 4 the last recording.when you're done, Insert a disket, formatt it and save the song. Others functions you'll learn by handling it.
You can't hear XP 80 unless you plug a headphone or a speaker to it. . In this video, it's plugged to a speaker.
If you hear the sound when playing or recording but can't hear what is recorded, something is incorrect. One question: Is English your native language ?
this keyboard has about 4 banks, each bank with 128 sounds ( patch ), morever, there' are still sliding controllers to modify the sound, and an amazing sequencer.
Very nice demo of the XP-80. You clearly have a broad knowledge of music. Love the glorious organ finale! I have an XP-60 myself, which I bought new over 10 years ago. It is still my primary workstation. If someone offered me a brand new Fantom workstation in exchange for my XP-60, I would say "Thanks, but no, thanks."
Hi there...I also have XP80..Brilliant keyboard.What is patch number starting from 1.12 and have you altered it...I love the Jarre phased strings sounds.Keep up the good work !!!
The XP80 is definitely my work-horse (expanded with the orchestral boards) :D ! Such joy and simple to use,yet powerful and lush sounds in it ! Never get rid of it (only expanded with Techno,60/70s keys & Vintage boards ;) ) !
Nice demo. Thank you. Levels are alittle high though. Distorted a couple of times. I had two XP80's in the past and I think I might get another one. I miss it!
I bet is the same casing as for the Jv-1000....

@Digital18Devil just more keys

@Digital18Devil 80 = 76 keys. 60 = 61 keys. Xp 50 is the same as Xp 60, but with a reduced display. Just this.

@LIBERTIN20 No i don't sell it. and how to clean it.... i really dont know. i don't have that problem with my XP-80. i'm sorry that i can't help you
StudioF 1 year ago
@LIBERTIN20
I found using claustic soda/ diluted in water removes the glue. Here's what to do:
1. Remove back cover, backing plates then the key screws and unclip cable connectors on the XP-80.
2. Put keys (all taken out including springs) into boiling water then gently prise weights out (with a screwdriver etc).
3. Then soak weights AND keys into the claustic soda dilution.
4. Reinstall with proper glue then put synth back together.
Hopefully this will help, and sorry for a 7 month late reply!

the best way is to record all the tracks seperate from eachother, only then you can mix every track the way you like it

@bonusbmusic that's the problem with the old workstations...can't do independent tweaking for each track...

There's a many question belove. XP-80 was the top synth on that gatecory. XP-50 was same synth but smaller and weaker keys.
In 1998 it cost in Finland about 1200 today euros. I still have of ;)
There's a 4 place of memory card bottom of the synth. I have one Techo and Dance card which was taken off the after sales cause pricacy problems.

it sounds ok, if you compare it to some soft synths, like vanguard, or analog factory, its not as good, but totally useable.
It's way to big imo, I would rather get an xp 30 which sounds bettr, and in a smaller package.

A true class A musical instrument. You make a rare presentation: demonstrating the timbres, not playing futile pieces in a single sound.
The XP-80 have sonic jewels, like that in 5:20 - Flying Waltz.
