Johnny was clearly wrong in his attitude and actions. He was asked to leave. He continued to try to pick a fight, even when the Baptist was being a gentleman. Nothing was to be gained by either side in that confrontation. The church of Christ adds baptism as a requirement for salvation, when the Bible says it is a testimony of salvation. Also, calling your Sunday school Bible study doesn't change what it is.

In Luke 24:13 - 33, where the risen LORD met a couple of disciples on their way toward Emmaus, He traveled with them and talked about the scriptures, convincing them that they were thinking incorrectly, but the whole way, Jesus never made Himself known, and they didn't recognize him. Was Jesus doing something wrong "covertly"? I don't think so. If the Baptists didn't recognize Johnny, that's their problem.

Hello Bay people. I live in Rockingham County North Carolina a place that Johnny Robertson has been acting like the biggest idiot in. Nobody here takes him seriously. I saw his 'tv show' last night and it was a joke. His assistant James Oldfield is more boring than mud. His own son was clearly confused and didn't know what he was talking about. Johnny fled the stage after about ten minutes himself. And they played the title credits at least 10 times in a row. What a laughingstock.

how is the church of christ denomination the one true church? yes it is a denomination in every way. what makes it the only one that god approves? god don't care what our church sign says. there were divisions in new testament but god counted those really wanting to serve him as his church. i am in a church of christ and ours counts as true christians the baptists and methodists. we differ on some things but we don't differ on christ and his grace that overcomes all differences. he is our unity.

Members of the one church Jesus built (Matt. 16:18; Eph. 4:4) should pray for those in denominationalism. The one church has only one faith (Eph. 4:5; doctrine), so denominationalism, with its many "faiths," is contrary to God's Word. Many people get upset about this, but it is clear Bible teaching.
God expects us to understand His Word (Eph. 3:4; 1 John 5:20). It has been revealed in words so that we can understand (1 Cor. 2:12-13). It is only through that true understanding that we can know we have salvation (1 John 5:13). Logically, differing "interpretations" cannot all be true. There is only one Truth; God's Word is Truth (John 17:17); therefore, we must know IT, not merely someone's interpretation of it.

Peter and John had to speak what they had seen and heard (Acts 4:20), and in 1 John 4:1, those brethren were admonished to "try the spirits whether they were of God," lest false teachers would deceive them. Carrying out the Great Commission does NOT make one crazy nor does it disqualify one from being a Christian. We at the Bay church of Christ DO welcome and encourage discussion of Biblical truth: book, chapter, verse.

otherwise, you have to live with a certain measure of grace, understanding that the way you interpret scripture might or might not be the correct interpretation, and realizing that God is bigger than denominations, and has arms wide enough to encompass all followers of Jesus.

The real problem in Bay is that Mister Taylor is not willing to defend the argument being put forth by the Baptist as to why a person should not be baptized for the remission of sins as Act 2:38 clearly states. I ask him to come over and defend his thief on the cross argument and he would rather get physical than do that. No amount of false accusations from you will defuse this video. I was only there 4 days and one very wonderful person decided on her own to leave denominations behind and became a member of the Lord's church. She was baptized for the remission of her sins Act 2:38. Even though people like Billy Graham and Pastor Taylor say all you do is pray the sinners prayer. The real issue is not my behavior, it is that truth was taught and error challenged.
Eph 5:22-33, Paul compares Christ and the church to husbands and wives, with the church being the bride of Christ. In that last verse he says that the wife should reverence her husband. I wonder how many husbands would think their wives were reverencing them by wearing the names of other men.

Ephesians 4:5 says there is one baptism. You say it is holy spirit baptism however EVERY account of conversion in the book of Acts involves WATER baptism. The only people who were baptized in the Holy Spirit are the apostles and the household of Cornelius.

Many, as do you, have tried to make this passage an excuse for denying the necessity of the believer's baptism into Christ. If such a view is tenable, how can Paul's baptism of Stephanas, Gaius, and Crispus be explained? Clubs and music do not make me commit sin...I choose to. Thats where the whole free will thing comes in. I think more people like me should be in Clubs! People in the places i play may never attend church again. i have an oppurtuniy to reach places a pulpit will not. I do my best to set an example while on stage. Why not go to places where there is sin and be there so god can use you to minister? I dont belive we should wait for souls to be saved ...go get em!

Johnny was clearly wrong in his attitude and actions. He was asked to leave. He continued to try to pick a fight, even when the Baptist was being a gentleman. Nothing was to be gained by either side in that confrontation. The church of Christ adds baptism as a requirement for salvation, when the Bible says it is a testimony of salvation. Also, calling your Sunday school Bible study doesn't change what it is.

I urge you all to read 1 John 4:1 in context (the entire section that verse is found in) probably starting with 1 John 3:24 and ending at 1 John 4:6 no where does it say go into a church to debate religion. it says to 'test the spirits' of men because not all spirits are of God. It should be VERY obvious who has a spirit that is of God and who does not. I am just saying, discern for yourself the truth. Read your scriptures and pray. God will reveal all truth.

Someone who purports to be following the scriptures, and taking a lead in spiritual matters ought to be "...ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in [them] with meekness and fear" (1Peter 3:15).

In Luke 24:13 - 33, where the risen LORD met a couple of disciples on their way toward Emmaus, He traveled with them and talked about the scriptures, convincing them that they were thinking incorrectly, but the whole way, Jesus never made Himself known, and they didn't recognize him. Was Jesus doing something wrong "covertly"? I don't think so. If the Baptists didn't recognize Johnny, that's their problem.

From 2Cor 4:2 we hear that hidden things are the hidden things of false teachers. We say denominations hide things that they lie about and we gather information to prove it. Hello Bay people. I live in Rockingham County North Carolina a place that Johnny Robertson has been acting like the biggest idiot in. Nobody here takes him seriously. I saw his 'tv show' last night and it was a joke. His assistant James Oldfield is more boring than mud. His own son was clearly confused and didn't know what he was talking about. Johnny fled the stage after about ten minutes himself. And they played the title credits at least 10 times in a row. What a laughingstock.

how is the church of christ denomination the one true church? yes it is a denomination in every way. what makes it the only one that god approves? god don't care what our church sign says. there were divisions in new testament but god counted those really wanting to serve him as his church. i am in a church of christ and ours counts as true christians the baptists and methodists. we differ on some things but we don't differ on christ and his grace that overcomes all differences. he is our unity.

Clarification: The comment about having friends in denominations did not mean that denominations are God's family. Members of the one church Jesus built (Matt. 16:18; Eph. 4:4) should pray for those in denominationalism. The one church has only one faith (Eph. 4:5; doctrine), so denominationalism, with its many "faiths," is contrary to God's Word. Many people get upset about this, but it is clear Bible teaching.

God expects us to understand His Word (Eph. 3:4; 1 John 5:20). It has been revealed in words so that we can understand (1 Cor. 2:12-13). It is only through that true understanding that we can know we have salvation (1 John 5:13). Logically, differing "interpretations" cannot all be true. There is only one Truth; God's Word is Truth (John 17:17); therefore, we must know IT, not merely someone's interpretation of it.

Paul was told not to hold his peace in teaching God's Word (Acts 18:9). Peter and John had to speak what they had seen and heard (Acts 4:20), and in 1 John 4:1, those brethren were admonished to "try the spirits whether they were of God," lest false teachers would deceive them. Carrying out the Great Commission does NOT make one crazy nor does it disqualify one from being a Christian. nobody denies that division exists. division existed from the very start. this doesn't mean we adopt a "my way or the highway" approach, unless you happen to be an apostle, with the word being dictated through you.
otherwise, you have to live with a certain measure of grace, understanding that the way you interpret scripture might or might not be the correct interpretation, and realizing that God is bigger than denominations, and has arms wide enough to encompass all followers of Jesus.

The real problem in Bay is that Mister Taylor is not willing to defend the argument being put forth by the Baptist as to why a person should not be baptized for the remission of sins as Act 2:38 clearly states. I ask him to come over and defend his thief on the cross argument and he would rather get physical than do that. No amount of false accusations from you will defuse this video. It shows how quickly Baptist become angry when they are simply asked to defend doctrine.

Eph 5:22-33, Paul compares Christ and the church to husbands and wives, with the church being the bride of Christ. In that last verse he says that the wife should reverence her husband. I wonder how many husbands would think their wives were reverencing them by wearing the names of other men.

Many, as do you, have tried to make this passage an excuse for denying the necessity of the believer's baptism into Christ. If such a view is tenable, how can Paul's baptism of Stephanas, Gaius, and Crispus be explained? Of course, what Paul referred to here was the administration of the rite of baptism, there being nothing here to the effect that Paul preached salvation without baptism. He like all the apostles had been commanded to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them" (Matt. 28:19)

The issue with your fellowship is that you are meeting with & accepting those that teach doctrines contrary to the doctrine of Christ. Do you believe the Methodist are right for sprinkling baptisms? I would hope not. The Bible says we are to correct that kind of error (Ephesians 5:11) So for you to say that everyone is OK, is hypocrisy. You saying that hatred was brought to town is false and the divisions existed before Johnny came around so that is a false statement also.

bible doesn't say how baptism is to be conducted or that it is needed for salvation. it's not important. it's not something to use as cause for not fellowship with other christians. the doctrine of christ is to love one another that is the greatest commandment. there is no issue about my fellowship as far as we are concerned. only your false teacher johnny robertson who wants there to be division and hatred. he is not of christ. he is evil. he is not a good man. so i have corrected you now.

Dear ELamar... could we get back on target. The issue is that I ask a pastor to come over and give his take on a lesson about the thief on the cross. Now Baptist everywhere give their take on the thief when I am not around in order to keep people from listening to Act 2:38 repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins ... why not stand up in front of the people that you say you can answer and answer?

You say that the church of Christ (which is the New Testament church) is a cult however you defend denominations that are not even in the Bible. Where is your reasoning? I might add that I find it a bit disturbing when a person must verbally insult another when they cannot defend their positions. You bring up Johnny's past in an attempt to smear him; are you without sin? Go ahead and cast that first stone. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.

i haven't defended any denominations. i attend a church of christ a few towns away from bay. we have fellowship with the baptist and methodists because we know we are all in the one church body of christ. you are bringing hate and division to our area. so how do you accuse me of something when i am a church of christ person already?

if you don't subscribe to the same doctrinal positions as these people, ELamar, you are not truly in the church of Christ. You need to go down with them, through a list, and check off point by point before you will get the thumbs up from them.
i wonder, if when we die and stand before the throne, will johnny robertson be there with his list, making sure that The Judge is getting it all correct?

i think you are right religiousreview. this johnny robertson sounds like someone who tries to be holier than thou. that is impossible no one can be perfect or totally faithful we have to be saved by god's grace. nothing we do can earn it.

baptism is of holy spirit. what baptizes us when we accept christ. nothing in bible says it has to be water baptism. why does anyone have to be joined by what you crazy people say is same mind and judgment? you want to be united by you, not united by christ. so you see you are a cult. you believe in yourself more than you believe in christ.

jbaaron can I ask you what "Prostestant "makes you want to do? Martin Luther is a "hero" for standing up to the Catholic church in the 1500s. He nailed his debate to the door and challenged any to answer. Will you write him up as "unChristlike" person. You all a doing pretty good at showing how inconsistant you are.

Baptist according to BFand M also do not accept the baptism of folk that do not believe a they do on the meaning of baptism. What should we do? Martin Luther nailed his problems to a Catholic church and he is a hero? Help with your suggestion

dear raven... listen again... I asked your pastor to answer the thief on the cross in person in our assembly. I said I was feeling physical because of the way they were coming at me and saying they would do what ever it took to remove me.
If you can't see that I was the one being treated in a physical way you are not watching...they were coming at me and saying they would pray for me?
Why not come over across the street and let us work on the conflict in person. You cannot and you know it!

You both handled it badly,not the way Jesus would have on either count.You were intrusive-not a good example of evangelism and he was defensive.Surely, you must know that you cannot change a person's attitude with threats(of posting a video on youtube).To do so,your heart must have been filled with indignation at best and hate at worst.The preacher "behaving badly" could have used the strength of God to deal with you in a more brotherly way and maybe changed the way you think.There's still hope.
