  • This makes me smile all the time.

He's the only flutist I really, really like. Usually, I find the flute too weak-sounding.

  • Does anybody know what song this is, or if it is theirs???

By the way, this was AMAZING :)

  • @TheWhiteLilium It's a combination of their songs, but they're all originals. Check out their other works. PROJECT.

  • @TheWhiteLilium the first one is called fables of faubus by charles mingus but thats the only one i know

  • @TheWhiteLilium The last one is called Semuta

  • Why is Peter (the bassist) NEVER in any of these videos with them?!

  • Too good. Literally someone would die from this.

    Music has officially been reinvented.

  • Too good. Literally someone would die from this.

  • Patillo's great enough on his own, and i think adding a little more of the lower register with a cello really enriched the sound.

amazing, i wish more of this was on youtube.

  • dude pppl seriously disliked this!!! whats wrong with them do they not recognize a GOD given talent!

  • thats some mad skills on the cello

  • HELL YEAH... finally some music that I actually smile when I hear... better than cringing huh.. these guys are so.. amazing..

that was a girl at 1:36?? omg.

  • my reaction is similar to the girl on the right at 1:36

  • This people are amazing. What a flute. Are they still out there? Can I find them busking at some point?

Damn, I love New York. Gets the most creative people in the country.

What's the MOST BEAUTIFUL thing YOU'VE EVER HEARD on the SUBWAY?

  • Yeah the Flute player is great .. I had to do a DRUM REMIX of one of his video's .. It's FUNKY . . .

  • fantastic...I loved this!

  • Need to marry you **busizz4me.info**

  • 121 people think rap is music....

  • @Rougewolf I'm pretty sure the first riff they play is from a rap song... Dilated Peoples maybe, can't place it exactly... regardless, beatboxing and rap are both part of hip-hop, why would you hate on rap music?

  • @joedotarch its a joke relax man

  • @Rougewolf Oh. Good one.

  • @joedotarch the begining is actually a charles mingus song called fables of faubus, you should check it out.

  • I F---ing love how they play the classical music instruments with such a modern twist. Why can't this be more mainstream? Another favorite of mine.

  • I love this! I was absolutely IN LOVE with Greg Pattillo just a couple of years back, my favorites having been this video and Peter and the Wolf. It's so great seeing how many views this has gotten since then. He creates such an impressive sound, along with the cello player, Eric Stephenson, and it's so ~beautiful~. <3

  • Greg must be in reeeeaally good shape xD

  • did you really spell it chello?....

it's not that difficult to spell...

  • @ngreenberg12 And yo momas not hard to hook up with (kidding for point, please don't take me seriously... on most things.) Who cares about grammar and spelling when the idiocy generated by the mis-use of the internet is long overpowering any effort as put forth by intellectuals. Waste your time in a better fashion, mmk?

  • @ngreenberg12 only on youtube could a video of one of the most unique and original music performances i've ever seen be overshadowed by a spelling error.

  • This mess is EPIC!!! AHHHHH! I love 1:11- 1:20!!!!!

    -nosebleed- SOO AWESOME!!!

My two favorite instruments! (especially the cello)

  • mt bom

  • Amazing amount of sound out of this duo.

  • mt bom

  • Hmm, people call this beatboxing? Ian Anderson has been playing flute like this for years. /watch?v=cRo5whIbau4

  • @Avatarlatte there is no cello solo....

  • who's the original arrangement done by?

  • So damn awesome at 1:22 dont get me wrong tho the whole thing is awesome but after 1:22 is my favourite part

  • screw the subway people, dance to this epicness

  • I didn't like it but, LOVED IT

  • It's amazing to think, that before youtube, moments like this would have gone without being recorded and shared...

There is nothing but win dripping all over this video...

  • @JayFGrissom It's why the internet is so great, in fact, it's probably one of the biggest steps we have made to become a type 1 civilization. If you haven't heard of this yet, I recommend you look it up. Michio Kaku explains the concept very well. :)

  • Wow at first im like this lame then the cello solo kicked in and i was like whoa

  • great people.. nice talent

  • has this song been recorded?? like to mp3?

  • has this song been recorded?? like to mp3?

  • wow how uneducated does one have to be to say "chello"

  • So what's the name of the song 0_0?

  • 1.09-203 is soooooooooooooooooo gooooooood!!!!<333333333

  • so whats the name of this song? Im looking at your album here and trying to find it xD

  • ive been paling cello for 12 years and i still cant do this!

  • this is awesome!

  • wooooooow :P

  • the flute guy it looks like if he is soaking hes flute

  • this is sooo creative and original. where can i find more of your music? where do you tour? I also play cello, and would love to see this live.

  • @marylilly1 Theyre in a band Called The Project. :)

  • @PhoenixFirewolf Thanks! I really love it. Looking for more of their stuff now.

  • i WILL PAY MORE ATTENTION WHEN i TAKE THE L to Ridgewood!! Great Artists!!

  • what's the name of the song at 1:22 ?

  • 0:43 - 0:53 - hottest part of the video

  • epic part starts at 1:11, and best part comes at 1:22 .. love this video!

  • @phoenixprotector ... x2. its simply amazing

  • loved this live at my school!!!! XD

how cool would it be to actually be in the subway when they were playing???

  • This song is a lot better played by 2/3 of a trio then by a whole band of high schoolers..

    Haha you rock Greg!

  • The first song is the hardest hitting song ever! Thank you, Mingus!

  • I love Pattillo.. :)

  • is it just me or does the cello playin in the video not match the audio at 1:33? i'm a cello player and his bow motion does not look like it matches

  • @spiffyJ498 as am i, looks fine. guys mommas gotta be my dealer cause im callin her for DOPE. LOL

  • @kandymews i didn't say it wasn't good, but at 1:33 his bow isn't moving across all four strings to produce the notes and sound that are occurring at that time. it looks correct at 1:30 you can clearly see the difference at those two times

  • @spiffyJ498 well obviously. the audio isn't going to match up because he was using different video clips for a continuous audio stream. if the video was always matched up with audio it would be impossible for the camera man to get all the angles he does, and if you think there was like 4 camera men around him all shooting constantly, you are retarded.

  • @SexlessNoSex thank you for that clearly educated thought (that was sarcasm if you're too stupid to see that). the video switches angles plenty of times and the audio still matches up with the video. so before you decide to go hostile on someone who's simply pointing something out i suggest you actually pay attention to the video.

  • @spiffyJ498 get a life

  • @Prinsesstartan what are you 10? anyone who tells someone else to get a life, clearly doesn't have one of their own. make a decent argument next time, you half wit

  • @spiffyJ498 ...great comeback!...

  • @spiffyJ498 definitely longer than your 3 word "insult"

  • @spiffyJ498 pwnt :P

  • very nice

  • i love this

    too bad it's so short

  • i play the cello myself, and this was AMAZING!

  • I wouldn't call this jazz simply for the reason that it doesn't have an improvisational aspect. Unless you're improvising, I just can't see it as jazz.

  • Wow!

  • beautiful music being played, amazing talent being displayed, and all some people have to comment on is a spelling error that is on the screen for half a second? oy...

  • Great Players!

  • @profjaykay Jazz I guess

  • i only like the start

  • what genre would this be classified as?

  • @profjaykay probably jazz fusion, thats a tricky one. to be honest im not sure but its definately jazz.

  • I remember watching this video two years ago. At that moment I didn´t have a channel and know I do, so I can add this as one of my favourites!

    COME AND WATCH!

Vení, pasá, yo te abro la puerta

La entrada es gratis, la salida...vemos

  • the end is fantastic!!

  • The beginning of this song is a portion of a mingus original (fables of fabus, freakin' sweet song). Man, this is an amazing combo of sounds. BOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they (the band's name is project) have a cd. its called winter in june. its on iTunes.

  • Fabulous!

  • Sounds like a more contemporary Jethro Tull. Love the sound, very cool and fresh. I like hearing new ways of playing classical instruments.

  • jethrotull!

  • they're great so well done

  • the bass is really great at 43 seconds

  • this is one of my favorite videos. keep it up!

  • HAHAHAHAHHA!!! They spelled cello WRONG!!! oh god best 2 seconds of my life

  • "Semuta" best song :D

  • Tenacious D much?

  • nice groove

  • 1.22 amazing

  • *-*

  • @ Kizaru9 if your going to diss an already respected group of musicians you might as well post in English.

  • Speak english you fuck.

  • i love how they spelled cello wrong in the beginning.

  • very cool

  • yeah i had exactly the same feelings :) hope to cath up with the bass somedays

  • @envagyokajoe Haha! Im playing the bass to this right now!

  • amazing, makes me sad I quit playing the cello

  • wow ya should do recording more often and play at more train stations. love the music its real funky.

  • This is so amazing! 1:22 is my fav part. :D

  • ostinato

  • chi?

  • la ripetizione di un pezzo si chiama Ostinato, come "allegro", "largo" ecc...

  • OMG!!

    \(0o0)/

  • beatboxing flute and a mastered cello and this is what i get i get the sound of GOD

  • 0:14 ... its cello..

but amazing video still, i always love listening to it, great duet

  • There's a mingus among us!!

  • What song is it at 1:22?

  • @pendragon259 Semuta

  • Whenever I see this, and lord knows it's been posted forever... I always think to myself, "Eric is going to get tendonitus if he doesn't stretch before playing." As a drummer, I used to get terrible wrist aches before playing punk music until I started doing stretches... and Eric does some SERIOUS wrist rocking on the cello to play some of those parts. Great technique, good posture and fantastic intonation, guys. Greg, you totally needed Eric and Peter. :D

  • @KitWriter if you're talking about the string crossings from 1:20-2:00, that's actually really comfortable to do on the cello or violin, it just looks cool. the harder part is the shifting on the left hand

  • oh man my friend and i should SO do this, she can grab her flute and i'll get ma cello and then BAM!!!

  • When you came to Brazil, please go to TV!

    We Love you!

  • In the video they spelled Cello Wrong.

    :/

  • @lexgregg well it Germany you spell Cello "Chello". But I guess since they're both not Germany it doesn't really count.

  • thats tight

  • Very nice i loved!!!

In my country i not see its!!(Brasil)

  • I wish we could do that in our country. You know, just jam in the train station :))

  • lol the cello player kinda looks like Matt Damon in invictus

  • haha i never thought about it but he does, especially at 1:23
